Are you asking how to zoom in on a section of the image using just Keynote instead of spotlighting it?

If you start watching at the 04:14 mark of this video, the technique I show for maps could be used for any visual content to zoom in “magically” on any section: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZm9p6OpjtuYocUsi=gJgh2S2jeaYXfOLV

Cam you do the same thing on the Mac version of Keynote?

Yes you can. It looks a little different, but the same technique is possible. I made this with students and iPad but non-Mac users in mind. Maybe I need to make one for Keynote on Mac too.

I tried it… After the transition, my entire picture turns black…. Of course , except for Australia… I was trying to keep the background and other countries slightly visible, but to no avail.

You can increase the transparency to 37% instead of 10%. Then you should see the image but just “shaded” a bit. See if that works for you
