I love your passion for Trudon! I’m here for it. I discovered the brand during COVID and will never go back to buying just DIPTYQUE or Jo Malone. I’m obsessed with Fir after receipt a cameo of it; I’m amazed by the different variations you can find at several places online. Some places tell you the year, others just display the different vessels and I guess I’ll harri do the research to find out how old a candle is before I drop $100. I think the vessels this year are drop dead gorgeous! And thanks for the Altair mention- definitely have to pick that one up. There can never be too many rose scents! If you’re a rose fan, try the Overose one! Even better than their gourmand scents.

I love how this review combines the fragrance assessment and science. I got the holiday box which includes Gabriel and Gloria. At first, I thought that would make a wonderful gift for a friend of mine. But now that I've watched your review, I'll keep the gift for myself. Happy holidays!

Because of you, I came to know about this brand. I have them on my Christmas Wishlist so hopefully my husband comes through. I could not wait though, so I got the cameos to try the scents. I got Abd del Kader, Josephine and Cire. I tried Abd del Kader, and OMG, I am in awe. My room still smells of it a day later. For the first time in 18 years, I am excited about Christmas presents. So thank you for introducing me to this wonderful brand.

I have the Gabriel cameos for La Promeneuse, and have some mixed feelings about the scent. I actually love the cold scent. Cold, I can smell the smoky fireplace scent better. With the hot scent, my nose seems to only pick up the chestnuts, and it’s a bit too sweet for my taste. On the other hand, it does remind me of trips to NYC during Christmas time….walking past the food carts selling hot bags of roasted chestnuts on the street. So that aspect evokes a pleasant memory. ☺️

Love these candles. Although for me, Gabriel and Fir don't have that strong a throw. Altair I really love, but I personally pick up on the oud notes more than the rose. This is a deep, rounded, opulent, heady scent for me. They had the Altair as a Harrods exclusive in the UK before this christmas, in a different vessel (one which I actually like even more than these ones). Interesting point about it being a bit out of place alongside the others. Think I'd probably agree...

Love Gabriel and Gloria. However Fir had no throw whatsoever when lit. Very disappointing as usually I have no complaint at all with Cire Trudon.

You do know that there exist “blue Douglas fir trees?” Or Rocky Mountain Blue Douglas fir. Trudon has their reasons I’m sure.

I received Altair as a sample - so glad I didn't purchase it. I thought it was too sweet which is odd because I thought it might have more of a church-y incense smell based on the name.
