@@hermanwooster8944 i hope so man, i mean i was just repeating info I’ve seen plenty times online relating to most mini pc’s. I found this out when researching them as I’ve been wanting to buy a very budget pc for gaming.. as long as i could run gta v and call of duty and racing games, im fine…. ID prefer a mini pc for the size obviously because I’m looking to replace my Xbox one setup; i will NOT get a typical setup… i will NOT get a monitor, I’ll play on controller still and on the same tV just replacing the Xbox one setup.. but i don’t wanna have a huge pc case box under my tV.. a nice small pc would be nice.. but i myself like to mess with things later on and id like it to be self serviceable/ upgradable, which I’ve seen the bigger cases are better for… so i don’t know… i really wanted to do 2-3 floating shelves under the tv to hold the Xbox (I’ll still keep it connected) and the mini pc on another shelf under it.. the shelves are the size of an horizontal Xbox one so not much space for a big heavy vertical pc..

These mini PCs are absolutely fantastic for general and productivity users. I've been recommending them to a lot of people -- basically, anyone who isn't a gamer -- and even got one for a family member earlier this year. Relatively cheap, more than adequately powerful, upgradable, very compact, and power efficient. What's not to like?

Dude, after several attempts with other minipc's, this is the one I settled on for my retro emulation station. It is flawlessly running everything from Atari up through PS2. I'm happy with this one. And you hit on all the other stuff... great build quality, packaging, etc. This is the way.

Great video! I got the Beelink SER5 Mini PC, AMD Ryzen 7 5800H. Its been amazing (I also have a top of the line gaming desktop). I bought one of these from Amazon about 3 weeks ago and it's probably the best investment in a pc I've made in a long time. The only thing I changed was the m.2 from an Intel m.2 to a Samsung 980Pro m.2 I think the Crucial memory is adequate is it seems to run very smoothly. The installed Windows 11Pro is great too. It's kind of an overkill for what I'm currently using it for and that is it is plugged into my Samsung 40" flat panel. I needed a way to get a browser that works on the internet and so I could watch television programs from Comcast X1 connection. I have a X1 in my living room, but because Comcast doesn't support 2017 Samsung TV any longer with streaming TV, I was forced into this configuration. It works for me. But I do use this pc for other things too. Gaming to a small degree, but may get something for that later on.

I got sick of the noise my previous laptops fans made and moved to a Mele Quieter 3C. For everyday and office use, it absolutely rocks. Uses about 2W when running, up to 10W max, is totally silent, is faster than my old XPS13, has a great selection of ports and makes the SER 5 look huge. These mini PCs are already awesome, and are rapidly going to get better. It is a shame that most people don't know about them, but the margins are not large enough for retailers to sell these.

I continue to be impressed with this miniPC. Never misses a beat, very stable and just works. If I want more power, I can plug my phone in, run DeX, and Tha immediately gives me access to image editing with Snapseed, and even 4k video editing, with a decent monitor, mouse and keyboard, with Lumafusion. This works so well I'm seriously considering deferring buying an AMD APU based miniPC until the next generation.

Bought one of these SER5's last month and have been very happy with it. I'm not a gamer, just an old fart doing basic tasks plus some light photo editing, and I know if I'd set out to build another rig I'd have spent at least twice as much and never used half its capabilities. Hell, I likely would have spent at least this much on a GPU alone.

Ha good timing, I have a SER5 on the way. I took a gamble and ordered from beelinks website so it is coming direct from China. Hopefully it arrives and I didn't get scammed😂 How is the fan noise from the SER5 at idle and in general use? I don't expect silent but hoping it isn't too loud like I found on the Intel NUC12i5.

@@DeinVatersVater I did! It arrived within 2 weeks of ordering. I had to pay €7 customs fees which beelink had declared on the paperwork so that is a bit naughty lol. Was simple though as all dealt with by fedex. The unit itself is great. It’s not silent but is quiet. Windows naturally works perfectly. Linux also works great with only one issue with Wi-Fi not working when you restore from sleep but you can work around it easy enough. Plenty of scripts to fix it on Reddit. Otherwise it’s a great little unit. My son loves it and for half the price of a similar Intel NUC it is a fantastic option. Solid 9/10 for me.

My experience with every laptop/mini pc vs desktop pc, the laptop based CPUs in these systems are just too laggy and slow and ran far too hot and loud for my liking, compared to desktop CPU based systems! Even when just using Chrome the fan would rev up and the window would stutter and take a noticeable while to be responsive. When I went back to a Ryzen 5 5600G system from a Ryzen 5 5500U system, the difference was night and day. I will never go back to them! My 5600g scored 11162 in Cinebench R23 compared to your 7942 5560U.

I'm thinking about getting a mini PC for my large screen TV mostly because it does not take up a lot of room. But for my main computer that I use everyday I prefer a desktop computer. You have more options for adding USB devices and adding things like RGB LED lights, etc. You have much more room to customize your PC as much as you like. With a mini PC you are looking at a small black box with one or two USB inputs and a connection for a monitor. For an office PC or to attach one to a TV a mini PC is a good choice, for a main PC for myself no way.

I'm watching this on an SER 5 Pro with the 5700U CPU. I've got Linux and Windows 11 running on it. It runs both fine. I've played Civ VI and Baldur's Gate 3 (although with Baldur's Gate 3, I had to bump the performance down a bit) and they're both playable. I wouldn't say it's a great gaming PC, but if you're only playing games occasionally, and keep your expectations reasonable, you can play the occasional game when the work day is done. :)

12:20 I dunno, we make fun of the RX 6400 but it would probably actually work really well in the HP here. Assuming that motherboard supports PCIE 4, if it doesn't then the 6400 is a terrible choice. The alternative would be the GTX 1650, which is also a low power card, depending on the model. One would want to make sure to get the version with GDDR6 memory (Marked G6, as opposed to G5) but if one does then that's a perfectly competent low-end graphics card that will absolutely smoke the IGP in that APU. In Norway those can be found for 100-150 USD used, and just over 200 new. Though the low profile variants are unfortunately much more expensive, and I don't know if that case supports full size expansion cards.

It’s amazing even Windows 11 Pro is included. It was 21H2, so I had to upgrade it too 22H2. SER5 is not the newest model, so Amazon gave a big € 90 voucher. Bringing the price down to € 379 for the 5500u model (16 Gb & 500 GB Kingston NVME).

This infomercial didn't care to mention that all Beelinks have a high failure rate (see all 1-2 star reviews on Amazon) within a few months to a year, so yeah it is good until it dies on you. The problem are the cheap no-brand internal components. Even if you replace the SSD and RAM with good components, the motherboard may die on you.

Mini PC's in general, including Beelink, have a failure rate of about 1.5% which is exactly the same failure rate as desktop Motherboards. Take into account the desktop graphics card failure rate of 5%, and PSU failure rates of >2% a Mini PC is statistically less likely to fail.

@@ElevatedSystems In your dreams! Chinese mini PC's in general, including Beelink, have at least 10% failure rate - this is the rate of 1-2 stars Amazon reviews, which everybody knows are overly positive and skewed with fake favorable reviews, so the real life failure rate is even higher than 10%. IDK, I'll let you know in 18 to 30 months. It would be impossible for anyone to know as the technology and components are only six months old.

Ya don't do high performance gaming on these things, but let me tell you, as power cost increases across the country, you'd do literally everything else on it. Tempted to get one and stick my gaming GPU in an enclosure instead.

Interested. Likely over my head but how would you do that?
@saxxonpike

@@Kimberly-qb5zo I think a system might need Thunderbolt support, then you get yourself an eGPU enclosure. They aren't necessarily cheap either. But Minisforum B550 offers the ability to stick a discrete GPU and mini PC together.

So can I use OBS on it ??

I tend to lower my graphic settings to Low-1080P on a game (like Skyrim or Fallout) & then lower the Streamlabs OBS video canvas output to 720p with maybe 4500 bits quality. The games I captured still resulted in decent recorded clips. but sometimes I get odd hiccups with the pc. An internal 2.5" SSD gave me an extra 5 to 8FPS estimate. But keep on mind that once you start running OBS, weird frame rate drops will occur more often.

Is the Beelink usable for games like Trackmania NF and can handle 20 Chrome Tabs easily? Thinking about upgrading from a Levono with i5 7200U and 6 GB RAM + 2 GB for graphics ram

They are loud and overheated for gaming and emulation. . Just returned mine. If its for basic office use, then I would buy a used micro pc from eBay.

If my computer broke, I think would buy a Raspberry pi or a second-hand computer off eBay. And spend the rest of the budget on a bigger screen. Although, with a desktop, shouldn't you still have the keyboard etc. from the computer you are replacing?

I got a Acer laptop with a i5-11400h with a 1650 video card for $500 Has the same performance as a Ryzen-5 5560u But the 4gb 6050 video can plays any AAA game. For $190 more it is mobile and play games. It plays Witcher 3 at 45 FPS in 1080p High Compared to Vega 7 of the Beelinks 30 FPS. If it has integrated graphics only then a cheaper Ryzen-3 will do the same job as a Ryzen-5 will do in any application. So a $200 Ryzen-3 5500U Beelink can do anything a $300 Ryzen-5 Beelink would
