the one where hinata closes his eyes and jumps is more realistic, however if you really want to do the falling toss, itll probably be more of slowing down near the point of impact than actually stopping dead in its tracks

I'm a middle blocker and I find quick spikes easier to hit than other types. I think part of it is because I'm quite tall (195cm) so I just have to run, jump and the setter will put the ball right in my hand so I just have to hit it as hard as I can, instead of thinking too much about my timing.

@caelestiriege4451

Setting comes in naturally for me, I just have to observe my spikers’ tempo when approaching the ball. Although I’m really conflicted about quick sets since one of my spikers really love quick sets. He usually adjusts when I do a normal set because he’s better in spiking when he’s the one adjusting because he’s able to read his position. But in quick sets I have to be the one to adjust which I’m not used to when it comes to him.

thanks so much man. really appreciate your dedication to these videos. Any chance you can make one on reading hitters/hard driven balls? im fine in most aspects of vball but when it comes to very fast balls, it becomes really hard for me to react to it. also, i seem to swing my arms and completely miss and glue my feet to rhe ground.

Hello ,. Can I asked a question
@trevorweir
@trevorweir 8 жыл бұрын
I love these videos. Well done, but can I add something here? Most of us who are 180cm or more can generally block many of these short sets (1) if the spiker is not in the air when the set is made, so the opposing coach simply tells their blockers to jump with the spiker. I tell my setter to be aware of my movement prior to getting the ball because I am timing my jump so that I am already hanging in the air and moving upwards to the 11 foot range. I start my upward jump before the setter has released the ball. If I draw a blocker, the setter can now execute a 4 or 5. If no blocker comes to me, the opposing team has no chance. The quick sets at kzbin.info/www/bejne/o320lKGoYr2nbJYm59s show the spiker starting their jump and being high in the air just at setter release. From ball in hands to a flick release for the setter can be less than 1/6 of a second. Gentle ball travel of 3-6 feet can be 1/6 of a second. Spiker needs hang time of less than half a second to accomplish this. The same move in basketball is called an alley-hoop. You will note more easily that in basketball on a short pass the player is often floating in the air already shortly before or even as the ball is being passed.

I'm 14 and 179cm... My coach wants me to be a setter since I have sick hands but I'm the best hitter on my team:/ should I set or be a hitter?

i'm a setter and i still get to hit lots, especially if you do back court setting. you'll be able to hit almost the same amount as the hitters when you're in front court.
