Looks like you have room for a water tank inside of one of cupboards to feed both your shower & sink. You only need 11-13 gallons of fresh water, so the tanks aren't very big or expensive and you already have your pump., much easier than carrying water, you put a access thing on the outside to fill with a hose, works great. We only use that water for showers & dishes not drinking. Just a suggestion., you have a nice layout, good luck .

With such a heavy built trailer I wonder if you could build a "deck" out the back. like the back doors open and make a deck area that's screened in so you can leave it up when camping. Nice build!

Really nice! My thinking would be to add 12 inches to the floor with floor joists to add water storage and grey tank. They could still use the lower rear portion for seating. Power bed lift would be nice and commercial mechanical lift would work if they don't use electric lift.

Hi watching your video, fyi we have a 6x12 cargo conversion you mentioned putting in a shower, we put a Tankless, ventless demand hot water heater on the wall next to the shower, love it ! Less than $200 online. I believe we paid about $179 at Camping worlds online site. It furnishes both shower & kitchen sink. Oh, its propane. Good luck
@jacquelynzajac15704 жыл бұрын
You can also add a really narrow grey tank for the sink & shower put it under the floor,

Great video. That "bucket" system is gonna' get old soon. If your installing all that plumbing and a water on demand, just go the extra mile and make it convenient for your indoor living. In cold weather you are not going to want to go outside and do all that pumping of water and so on.

Its only a pain in the ass if you design as if you wont be the guy fixing it. Also they use linear actuators in hospital beds, elevator, industrial case clamps blah blah blah and they never fail. Like never. And if they do theres always a keyway for manual operation. I second the motion for the motorization of the bed.
@CurtisDrew14 жыл бұрын
I've used a cheap Harbor Freight 440 lb cap electric winch for over 10 years to raise my 16'W X 12'H shop doors. I don't think worrying about "what if it should go out someday?" is a good argument. He's already lifting the bed with his back, so stringing cables to raise and lower the bed should never wear one out. And you could just use a 12 volt 1000 lb winch to save needing an inverter. Just use garage door railings and rollers to make the bed go up and down smoothly and cheaply. Replacement parts at your nearest box store. And he can always retain the current channel guides as a back up & for the added sleeping areas he has the planned option to build. Love that tall trailer.
@glorialeach73015 жыл бұрын
Wow!! Nice set up 👍😊

I'm thinking you could motorize that bed lift real easy. And if you mounted your TV (that's on the wall above the freezer box) flush into the wall you could watch it from the couch with the bed up or lower the bed and have the TV at the foot of your bed. I had a 17" cargo trailer I was going to modify like that, but didn't because it was only 6'3" tall inside and felt it would take to much effort to raise the roof up like yours. So I sold it and built a Pop up tear drop trailers. Niclely done camper trailer Guys.

I love everything about it excepts why not put more windows in it. Especially in your sitting area.
@sandrahurley38545 жыл бұрын
A window in the seating area would put a glare on the television. Guess you could put a room darkening drape on the window, for television watching times. Give it some thought.

It's very thoughtfully planned. A couple questions, where do you shower when it's not hooked up yet & laundry? Also, I think a powerlift for the bed would make it more user friendly for when you are older. So are the solar panels attached to the roof? Helps to have craftsman in the family and being raised around craftsmen 🙂

Did he say the floor size of the trailer? I like the height but 7 foot would work for me; all of them need to be 2 axles for handling on windy days and an occasional flat tire. I would get the pointed nose and some could have brakes added, i suppose it depends on the tow vehicle. For me alone with my dog and maybe an occasional guest I think a 7x12 would do for part time. I already have done almost 2 months in a Prius hatchback but as I age the the lack of a bathroom sucks, especially on cold rainy days. The temp feature of the Prius is the bestest!

numberplate guy Where would you put the water tank that hold 100 gallons of water for a bath?
@numberplateguy85115 жыл бұрын
@@peacefreedom4930 I wouldn't carry the water I'd pay for hot water on the go so the bath would only be full of water at the point of having a bath etc then it would be empty and could be stored on its end or upside down anywhere in campervan during travelling or on the roof where people store their surf boards etc I'd just have an empty bath on the roof instead lol

I'm curious what size goal zero you are using that powers your fridge. I converted a cargo trailer over the winter and I'm considering a fridge. I have two 115AM marine batteries.. and currently they power the LED lights, vent fan, and TV. I use a small 60 solar suitcase to keep it charged, but two batteries is way overkill for what I currently use it for. I'm wondering if a fridge will force me to upgrade my solar panel kit or if I'll be fine as is.
@alternativehometours775 жыл бұрын
great question. I have the same Dometic fridge in my step van and it draws about 40 watts when compressor is running and pulls about 10% of my battery bank over night (I have 450 amp hours of lead acid). I would guess a goal zero would have a hard time powering it. maybe Troy and Cindy can answer that or someone else with that setup

Should look for an electric bed out of a toy hauler. Raises and lowers with the push of a button. Goes to the ceiling when not needed and lowers down for sleeping. No ladder needed.
