9:03 Elevator bed uses electric drill to raise and lower. System is set up to raise and lower each of the four individually so you can level the bed.

You might look into hanging solar panels on the side of the trailer held up using struts to lift the panels. I am going to build a trailer that will have 19, 315 watt panels mounted on the trailer then one more that will have to be ground mounted.

Amp hours are still the same but the voltage multiplied by the amp hours is the factor. 48 volts X 400 amp hours = 19,200 watt hours. This is the number that matters when calculating how much power is available for your equipment. Almost.... The other factor is the actual available amps the battery can produce. For my system i found that the battery claims to provide 200 amps. But the fine print says it can provide 150 amps continuous. Which means if I really need 200 amps I need to have two same size batteries in parallel to keep my system from having voltage/current code issues. My next upgrade will involve changing to two 24 volt batteries that are 400 amp hours each. By connecting them in parallel The Total amp hours will be 800 amp hours resulting in 19,200 watt hours of power. I have a 4,000 watt inverter which i discovered is not enough watts to operate my AC, microwave oven, and air fryer or induction cook top all at the same time. I need a 6,000 watt inverter or possibly two inverters. One the 4,000 watt inverter and a second one that is at least 3,500 watts because i already have one that size running on my 24 volt system. That said if I was to switch to one 6,000 watt inverter I would also need to increase the battery voltage to 48 volts to keep wire gauge size at a minimum. When i build my super sized battery I might use 48 volts then. I will have 32 cells connected in 4 parallel strings of 8 cells for the 24 volt battery and 2 parallel strings of 16 cells for a 48 volt battery system. The watt hours remains the same for both systems. The BMS will determine ultimately how much power the system can produce. By using 200 amp BMS's which can provide 150 amps continuous i will be able to operate at least 9,000 watts of load with a 48 volt battery. If the battery is 24 volts the current available would be 4 times 150 amps = 600 amps total for a maximum of 14,400 watts of load. The more parallel strings mean higher watts is possible.

Lots of great ideas, simple. I do like the flow thru ventilation idea. I am looking at a 1973 Chevy chassis, 350 motor, I believe the guy said there was just over 14 feet behind the seats. the storage area on drivers side footwell is something that looks interesting for a battery area ? nice clean open design = good job

I would want to do a frame-off restoration on a van that old. I've seen people do it and it's not that hard to do but you need somewhere to do it, that's the tough part. That's a good size and would be a fun project if you have the time and place to do it out of the weather.
@ellismidkiff61174 ай бұрын
Fenders are probably larger because the body might be used for another chassis that has a different setup. Maybe

One thing I don't get about almost all of not all of these rigs. Why do people put these mini-fridges on the floor. There is all kinds of problems with that. You cannot see what is in the fridge. It's hard to reach. You can push stuff to the back and end up forgetting about it or throwing it away. You're unconfortable every time you need to get to the fridge. It's hard to see and visualize and for that reason also hard to organize. I could see that with a freezer that you don't go into very often or need to organize. The same thing with some house designs and how they put the microwave up above the oven? It it was me, I'd want the fridge a little below counter level. Or maybe not because I might go into it more and eat too much or warm it up too much?

for me, I would need or want a better way into the bed, think of how some boats open to the lower deck, two-piece clam, part drops down and another folds to tilt up, [part of the loft] walk in and outline a human,

I was thinking the same thing... I could hang a hammock and be happy "if" I could utilize the space for everything else... I mean who cares?! it's just to sleep! I see alot of rigs with the bedroom taking up 70% of the place, and what for? your not living in your bed are you? because bedridden people have no business trying to be nomad imho
@chapter4travels8 ай бұрын
I've said the same thing about vans with huge beds many times. And if I could sleep in a hammock, I would have done that, it's a great idea.
@beneficialmeditations48328 ай бұрын
@@chapter4travels I warned my son when I bout his eagles nest set up... we all fall out of a hammok at least once, sure enough he did, and he laughed... hammocks aren't for everyone, some people have told me total nightmares about their body locking up in them and everything, but it is deff an option in a "work in progress van build" cuz the bed room isn't as important as the engine repairs... the build should actually be 2nd to maintenance.
