Watching the umpires head go back and forth during the quick exchanges, is hysterical!!!

Amazing series of points. Many over 50 shots before an error was made. A clinic on advanced pickleball play. Thanks for this entertaining post.

I'm really watching that 3rd shot selection and where they place it. It seems like they go to the backhand unless they can control it enough to keep it low in the middle of the kitchen. Also, the mentality of their consistency is great. Great focus and concentration. They don't panic and go for too much too soon. Very steady and consistent. High level of play here.

Okay, weird question--I know that in a Best-of-3 series, it can either be two or three games long, depending on the games' results. So, what makes it go to a Game 4 tiebreaker...?
@timhatzenbeler96734 жыл бұрын
It was a double elimination tournament, so the team that won the first 2/3 came back from the losers bracket. That gave the winners bracket their first loss, so they played game #4 to 15 points winner takes all.

I_Lean_ Right It's addictive and insanely fun. I recommend it for the whole family because it's not like racquetball or tennis where the big guys are going to have an advantage. Age 10+ kids can compete with adults and everyone can be challenged.

I think Pickleball is highly suited to Tennis Players. Tennis is a more skillful game, however Pickleball is less STRESSFUL on the body, more SOCIAL and usually more EXERCISE in a shorter amount of time.
@Tippix6 жыл бұрын
absolutely correct, its great fun!
@ShortyandCallie6 жыл бұрын
Not sure about it being less stressful on the body. I had to have knee surgery not long after I started playing. Lol! Also, playing 2 hrs straight really takes it out of you. I find pball a lot faster than tennis, at least for me.
@MukiFPV6 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, been playing tennis for years, and tried my first pickleball match last night, and my back wasn't in pain, as it can be sometimes after tennis, and social for sure, people mixing all sorts of teams, everyone plays against everyone. I just bought my first paddle :)

I am a huge rugby fan and I consider Pickleball kinda like the 7s version of rugby of tennis types. Our town recently put a huge development into the game and a complex just opened this past week. I'm so excited to go to the free clinic they have tonight.

Theres definitely more rallies than a tennis game, the underarm serve and forcing the 3rd ball to bounce means a rally has started before the ball can be properly attacked. I find it far easier on my back and joints than tennis and badminton. I have noticed that pickleball groundstrokes require you to bend a little more as the ball doesn't bounce as high as a tennis ball and generally has less top spin on it

@astigehhh7 жыл бұрын
right!!!! no idea why they smashed it right to them instead of putting it on the corners...
@Siberius-7 жыл бұрын
They did. 2:07 2:18 was a bit delayed on the reaction (don't think they expected it to go in) 2:32 was a smash for the low height 3:57 were 2 smashes in a row (and another sort of one shortly after) 4:25 was a high enough smash 4:29 was a very clear example of a smash 4:57 was an attempted smash 5:26 was 2 smashes in a row Where you might be a bit confused is that they can't go past the line and right up to the net where the court is green and just smash it right at the net. So it often needs to bounce first so they can get to the ball. Also the rackets and the ball are a bit funny.. you can't really just smash the shit out of it like you can in tennis. You need to hit it in a bit more of a strange way that doesn't seem very conducive to as much power as they could use, in order to retain control over the ball. There's no real top spin with the hits either.. it's very flat and the ball is strange lol.

As an assessment of each of these four players, what comes to mind are Bobby Jones observations on Jack Nicklaus after watching him win the 1965 Masters, and later as Jack commented on Tiger Woods when he burst onto the golf stage, "He plays a game of which I am not familiar".

@jon77reed6 жыл бұрын
It's probably around 50 mph on the hard hits. Given that they're 14' apart at the line that's about 2/10ths of a second to react so it's faster than it looks.

peter piper's pickles maybe not so much "don't" but "can't" run much. I've found that a lot of tennis players find this game fun. I've only been playing for about a month.

When your on the court playing ... its pretty intense when your playing at 4.0 or higher . If your just sitting in your room and watching a video ... you have no idea of what it takes. This is a game with a lot of strategy.

When you play difficult players it's a lot of exercise mentally and physically.

And how many times have you played? I find TENNIS boring. Lots of running and not so much actual hitting. I hit 3 or 4 times as many shots in an hour of Pickleball as you do in an hour of Tennis, guaranteed.

Tennis has lost its finesse and strategy, everyone has the same game - pound from the baseline, that is boring!
