"This is a farewell song for the warriors from their parents. Back in the days when Mongol warriors went to war, their parents would share their wisdom with them and wish for a safe return. When you listen to the song, you’ll hear in the distance the sound of a horse trotting, as the soldiers used to leave their homes for war with their horses."
@Highvibeon
@Highvibeon 10 күн бұрын
Nice😊 by contrast today we share our wisdom when ever it's required so I guess wisdom in Mongolia is only shared before our sons ride off to war on a horse. This is what made Mongolian empire powerful. Ghengis Khans induction of servants to war instilled itself over the distance of time. Thank you The HU

As Mongolians, we grow up being "shireg'ged" as kids to soothe us from nightmares and foul spirits by facing their embodiment as a silhouette formed of a few drops of melted candle wax when dipped into a bowl of water. This, in the context of now old parents bidding farewell while enveloping caressing message to their already grown up son on horseback for a mission to a land of far away, makes me feel rather uneasy. How childish and immature I may always have been to my ageing parents despite trying to disguise these recurring salt and pepper locks? Really uneasy tune in a calm note. Thanks The Hu for making me think a lot more than twice, and lots of love mom & dad!

I started my day listening to Shireg Shireg, not once, not twice, but 3 times. Brought me to tears each and every time. As a recent breast cancer survivor at 55 now, this song brings positivity. I think that living in modern times, we forget how powerful nature, art and belief is a thread that combines us to our ancestors. It is foolish to think we have 'out smarted' our past with modern technology because our past is forever linked to us. We should cherish it. This is so beautiful and reminds me of my Brazilian culture and how our family links the importance of our ancestry into our present. It remind me to never forget and honor those who came before us. They laid the path we follow.
