I haven’t been able to get into the past few In Flames records. This album, though...excellent. I like the direction the band went here. The songwriting is fantastic. The melodies are superb. “Follow Me” is my favorite tune on the album. Really good lyrics! I am going through difficult times and this song gave me chills. I love it.

When listening to this with my boyfriend, I said these lyrics must be what the grim reaper would say to a person in deep misery. Showing up like a non-scary, comforting and very persuading supernatural character. He was a bit shocked and thaught I was extremely dark and had a whole other look on it. Like a friend, but definitely not the reaper. Guess I watch to many horror movies 😄

In flames is my favorite band ever, they never disappoint, lighter than whoracle and clayman, but honestly probably the best written album they have ever made. A sense of purpose was also a masterpiece, a for all these people who don’t like change, you can keep listening to the same old album and complain about the new, but a true fan will always love the direction and appreciate the quality of this masterpiece. They have put out over a dozen albums, they can’t all sound the same, how boring would that be. Love the new and old, keep it up guys

Being a "true fan" isn't about loving the direction a band goes. It's about being truthful and knowing when the band flopped with an album. Even though some people don't like a band just because they changed, that's not everyone. It all depends on if their change was genuine. I don't care for Siren Charms or Battles because of this. However, I, The Mask is different. You can feel the passion and emotion in this album, something that's been lost for quite some time. Though this song itself is soft, its meaning is genuinely heavy and powerful, and that's what makes it such an awesome song.

I personally loved "Sounds of a Playground Fading" but was very conflicted on Siren Charms and Battles. Each album had good songs, but overall felt like too much of a far cry from what I thought this group was going to deliver. Not upset by it, just didn't vibe with it. This album takes what those albums tried to do and very much improved upon them

Nonetheless, this song definitely has similarities with Come Clarity as far as the intro slow arpeggio, followed by a gradual build up, which goes with the lyrics well, not to mention the parallels in lyrics between this song and Come Clarity. You tried though. C for effort.

The melodies are memorable and the chorus is catchy and manages to sound emotional which is what a ballad should do. This one sounds empty. Come Clarity was the beginning of the end of In Flames. This album has good songs and starts off strong, but their songs follow a lot of the same generic riff patterns and it's painfully obvious. But I can't match this up to Lunar Strain or even Clayman and take them as the same band. They went mainstream and I am happy for their success but what I personally enjoyed about the band is pretty much dead. Colony and Clayman were masterpieces and this is pandering to scene kids. "This Is Our House" is clearly a sign of that.
