This was a fun watch for a well-crafted and paced game! I liked your writing, too, you connected the characters in cool ways and gave them personality. I'm definitely interested in Exclusion Zone Botanist!

Thank you and I'm glad you found the videos fun! Its definitely a good one to draw some creative writing out of someone - such as me - who finds the process a little intimidating!

I liked the style and aesthetic of the game quite a bit. Excellent inspiration. Would love to see a playthrough of Exclusion Zone Botanist as well!

Enjoyed both of these episodes. Eleventh Beast is an excellent and well-crafted journaling game. The shape-shifting worm is such a cool monster. I wonder if you could enhance the game by using something like Maze Rats' monster tables to give it more definition.

Glad you enjoyed the playthrough! Yeah - its a really well-designed game. Simple but elegant. And you're right - Maze Rats, or something similar, could easily be used to extend the experience.

Please please more Gates, Iron Helm, Tin Realm, and 11th Beast! More 4 Against Darkness as well.

:D Definitely more Iron Helm at some point, and more 4AD will hopefully happen (especially if I manage to work out a way to pause time or print money so I can quit my day job!).

The shapeshifting sure does explain the pig snout bit!
@lone_adventurer4 ай бұрын
Haha, true! Maybe that bit got stuck, so every form has a pig's snout...

Very cool, and impressive what has been achieved within the confines of such a small game! Evocative is a perfect word for it, in my opinion. But it nearly needed to be renamed to The Eleventh Agnes 😅
@lone_adventurer4 ай бұрын
Haha, yeah plenty of Agneses! I think it would be beneficial to extend some of the tables in this game if you wanted to play more than once or twice 😁

Nice little game, Loved the little bit of creative writing to describe the monsters demise 😊 Would be interesting to see how it fairs after a few games though!

Thanks! Yeah - I'm not sure it is designed to be played more than a handful of times (and given that you can get the tri-fold version for 'pay what you want', that's probably ok). But for those who like journalling games, you could easily come back to it every now and then...

Reminds me of a print and play called Pocket Cthulu. Great little gem that sadly got left behind and wasn't picked up as much. Came out bout the same time as deep space d6 and maquis. Fun little game.

I stand corrected. It's actually called Arkham Express. Dunno where I got PC from.

It might be interesting to increase the difficulty by treating each rumour-verification roll as a separate action.

Great setting and style, but probably not enough variation between games, enjoyabke for a few games but longer term replayability probably isn't enough for me. As always a good clear video playthrough👍
@lone_adventurer4 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the playthrough! Yup, not one for people looking for high replayability 👍

If I wanted to play it more than a couple times I would start using random word cards (e.g. Mythic) in place of the tables. Also, I would say when you get something like "furtive" or "vicious", it's best to make up something specific, e.g. "It fears artificial light", "it hides in tunnels", "it attacks the pious on sight", "it constricts its prey like a python".
@lone_adventurer4 ай бұрын
@@dranorter Exactly right. If you're really into journalling / creative writing and you're keen to add interesting details and imaginative adaptations to the beast based on the prompts, then you could get plenty of plays out of it!
