Cozumel is such a beautiful island. I've been 3 times and have always felt safe. If you ever go back, go to chankanaab park (I probably spelled that wrong). Great for snorkeling. I did a dolphin encounter there too.

I’ve been to Cozumel 3 times once was a high school chorus trip sooooo yea nothing to worry about. They are super nice. I mean there danger everywhere but I’ve met the best bartenders and servers on their beach! They let me chop my own coconut and make my own drink!

I'm a little disappointed that you didn't do your homework and discover that Cozumel is quite safe. Hell, there wouldn't be a Cozumel if they screwed with tourists. We are their bread and butter. I was there, and Playa del Carmen, the last time back in April and luckily had the best weather. Feel bad for you that you guys didn't. It's a beautiful little place. If you ever go back, you must do the Jeep tour and explore!!! Bon Voyage and look forward to the next installment ;-)

I did a jeep tour and snorkeling on the beach in Cozumel, Mexico. My husband and I got to drive our own jeep around on the streets of mexico with the group and we had the most delicious food prepared for us on the beach. A memory I will never forget.

Mexico is great. I did 3 trips to Acapulco years ago but 2 yrs ago Tulum And Coba on the Mayan Riviera. If you love ruins a great place. Rent a taxi.. go see a cenote. Authentic Mayan food..nice.. I love Mexico. Happy you had a great time. I've done one cruise too... can't wait to do another.

Cozumel is really safe. In fact, lots of Americans retire there. I totally feel comfortable walking around outside of the port and where you can get great deals.

Wow I went to Cozumel during my first cruise on Adventure in 2018. When we did each of our port stops soooo many people were all over the place, but now it looks like you guys have the islands all to yourselves which is pretty cool. Yea my family didn't do any excursions on our first cruise either since we weren't that familiar with it.

We love Cozumel so much we've cruised there dozens of times. Loved it so much some years back we rented a simple 2 bedroom house on the Caribbean side of the island for a month for $12 per day. You mentioned you went downtown. Reality is you were a couple of miles south of the true downtown in San Miguel. Next time hop on a $5 each way taxi and go take a look. Then you'll experience the true way they live in Mexico. $1 US beers and $2 margaritas while relaxing in the central square. Bars popular with locals. Turtle steaks and authentic Mexican grub. Better yet handmade clothing that is custom fit and sewn up while you wait. Cozumel has in all probability the worlds second best snorkeling reefs after the south Pacific. Literal billions of fish and barracuda in those crystal clear waters.

Loving these cruise vlogs! If you ever do a cruise stop again in Cozumel, definitely do an excursion! My friend & I did a dune buggy/snorkeling excursion, and it was awesome! Also, lunch is included :) Always explore these ports, since you never know if you'll ever have the chance again!

I had totally forgot you were on Royal, I kept thinking you were on Disney. When you mentioned rain I thought, no worries, they give you Disney rain coats on the way out. Opps, not Disney. When you mentioned going downtown I thought, all you have to do is cross the road. Disney parks at the downtown pier. Opps, not on Disney. What planet did you step off of, you didn’t know about land excursions? Did you read RC website, I wanted to say brochure, I watch for the Disney content but lately I watch to see what UW didn’t teach you. I think prices in Mexico are in Pesos, Mexican pesos.

It’s really too bad you didn’t experience more on Cozumel! You have said you are new to cruising so it’s understandable the things you don’t know yet. You kept saying you were concerned about going to Mexico, don’t be. All the places I’ve been in Mexico have been great and I never felt unsafe. Actually you probably have more “unsafe” things to worry about in the U.S. then in Mexico. There are a number of very good KZbin bloggers that have been travelling in Mexico for a few years. You should check them out in order to get the real goods on Mexico, not what is portrayed in the media. P.S. I love Disney too, and Mexico.
