@@haebom_ow I am also a mercy one-trick and I can also assure you that I'd rather have a damage boost nerf than that stupid, incredibly unnecessary Guardian Angel "change", damage boost is such a wonky ability and its utterly ridiculous that in Overwatch 2 some characters such as Pharah are incredibly dependant on Mercy because of it I also want to see Zenyatta's stupid Discord Orb either changed or fully removed because it's honestly just a cancer to the game at this point and tanks can't exist properly because of it

Damage boost is the only reason the hero gets value especially the higher up the ranks you go, and even with it shes not great right now sitting at a 0.5% pickrate in OWL all season. Nerfing her main source of value to get half a second back on GA would just make the hero gutter tier.

@@CatgirlKiyana For me making the best players decide what is best in terms of balance is a double-edged-sword. Like sometimes they make decisions that are good overall. And sometimes... well... they do the most shitty claim ever. I saw a good player that does tierlists and one time he put moira on the very bottom. Just for her to get to S-tier when literally nothing changed. This all happened during one season and there are a lot more examples. My point is that it's not healthy for the game to let the "good" players decide.

The thing is that there are good players for every agent in the game. Just type "best (agent name) player" and you will see. Above some level not only u have the ability to play every character in the game but u also have the skill that most of the players can't have/don't want to have. It's not fair to let the top 500 decide what is good for the million others. I don't care what they have to say. I have played the game since its early days. I know what I am talking about. Edit: You can say that the main reason to play fps games is to "climb up". But then why is ranked only 3 gamemodes and quick play along with arcade like 20 or something.

My biggest concern is if zen doesnt see a touch on his, this kills mercy actually being beneficial to her team as much, cause 25% for 1 vs 25% for all is rough, though as any character in game go you can play em an be fine it will be just sad especially since imo zens damage buff is far more oppressive then mercy, like he himself can take advantage of his own buff whereas mercy cannot

It's okay. Only 5% nerf. People complain about everything. Mercy gets a lot of hate due to her being easy to play and being rewarded by standing still while pressing the blue beam. We can argue that her damaged boost is a lot less than any other support that can dish out damaged like Baptiste and Ana, especially Zen but the current nerd is not that bad. Let's move on.

Mercy has better movements + rez. Also, Zen's orb only effects one target at a time. Mercy can damage boost one target, but that target can then hit whatever enemies they want from that. So both are still strong in their respective ways.

eley... ur too sweet, but u gotta admit, this -5% dmg boost reduction is incredibly unnecessary and just another act of blizzard to stirr the boiling pot. why is mercy getting her dmg boost nerfed and not zen?! the issue here is that, compared to mercy, zen can discord orb one enemy, and that specific enemy takes 25% more dmg from EVERYONE. mercy on the other hand, can only dmg boost one person, when she's not in her valk. this nerf is yet again lame, periodt. the real problem is zen, not mercy. and this just ruins once again the way mercy was supposed to perform during combat.

@@fashionovawigs Both are an issue for different reasons but symptoms of a greater problem: Support survivability was recklessly increased in OW2 for no reason. Zen's Kick and extra ammo allow him to defend himself when he shouldn't, improved support passive + less free space allows Mercy to hang in cover and regen. This is the reason why Ana's nade got it's HP reduced, rightfully so. Nerf survivability while improving the unique aspects of the supports and I guarantee you that there'd be no issue from both pros and the overall community, while having a more unique roster of heroes overall.

I think it's unfair and you can just look at zenyatta for that. When zen heals he can still do damage (good dmg)" put discord orbs and it's all from a distance. Now, sure "discord orb is also 25%" the HUGE difference being that EVERYONE in the team is doing 25% more dmg to the target. Mercy beam is only for one hero and that's it, you are not boosting anyone else AND you also can't do anything else while pocketing a hero, that's pretty much your whole kit but i guess players just get too mad about not winning 1v2 when the enemy is clearly getting pocketed and then they cry mercy is "so fucking broken" 😪

The problem is you can't have it both ways. The DMG nerf can't be so minor it barely affects anything and still be a "good change" that does something. I am also some what concerned that Mercy's dmg boost is the same as Zen now. Her boost only applies to one target, and she cant' do anything else while boosting. Mean while Zen's boost applies to any one who shoots that target and he can still heal, fire etc at the same time.

@@sjoneks-aka-jonek9 It's also way more if you consider Zen himself. Mercy by average puts out no dmg, generally boosting or healing. I think on average most mercy players put out less than 1k dmg per round, and that is just the few Battle mercy raising the average number up. Mean while most zen put up about 4-7k per round, usually close to the DPS. All that goes on top of the dmg he boost with discord. In terms of raw numbers Mercy was never even close to Zen. The only real benefit for Mercy was if you had one really good player, boosting them had more impact.

Thank you for showing numbers because a lot of mercy mains (& i say this as someone w my most hours on mercy also) see any nerf and see red LOL. Never a good thing when even devs make suggested remarks of how it's scary to even look at Mercy - every hero should be able to be changed fairly. People also forget how, in general, damage boosting in ANY game is so insane. The higher the numbers the better, of course, but just being able to boost damage in any small amount, esp if the other team doesn't have that or isn't as effective, still is amazing. So yeah, this nerf really isn't that bad at all lol.

Can you give some advice to a fellow Mercy main about how to regain SR soloqing? I think every Mercy player has experienced that soloq in plat where you go on for too long and get frustrated. Im having difficulty in low plat and gold to really make an impact. I cant seem to get back to dia. ATM im recovering from a losing streak so big, that im currently in gold. OW2 is much harder to make friends and que as a team than OW1 imo.

find ur duo! i had this same problem so i started playing with my duo which ended up helping me to go up in elo (but don't play with any duo or play alone a lot if you lose 2 or more games) i lose my elo when i play with a duo that is not so good. i could even carry him but in the other games it will be tricky lol if u show all of yourself some master guy or gm can help you move up in elo since all they want is a good mercy or a good ana

sorry to ask but what is ur rank? I recommend ignoring these comments. a good ana and a moira will always outrun mercy's heal so the team requiring you to turn into a heal bot is just dumb :) u are A MERCY and not an Ana or Moira where skills revolve around healing a lot and giving damage. mercy's heal always requires a help from the other support so regardless of whether you turn into a heal bot or not, the other support should take credit for helping with that heal. but in the cure comparisons u will have more but it will not be that cure that actually saves or whatever, u know? I can overcome the healing of other supports just by healing an ally taking damage in a few seconds and even then I get more boost time than the healing beam but it will also depend on the situation

Yes, it totally depends on the situation, so it's hard to say whether those complaints are valid or not. Generally, I don't think Mercy mains should focus too much on dmg boosting as it can make you "forget" about helping the rest of your team, but there's also no reason to heal if your second support can keep up with the heals themselves. Sometimes Mercy heals wouldn't be enough to help anyway though. She can only heal so much. In any case, Mercy is not expected to have high healing numbers if you have a main healer as your second support. The team with the most heals in the lobby also doesn't mean they'll win. A lot of people definitely don't know this and therefore starts blaming their supports because that's what the scoreboard shows them, not having a clue what else is going on in the game. Especially in lower ranks, so like below masters. So take the comments with a grain of salt. It would not be surprising if they're only complaining cause they're used to having literal healbot Mercys.

Hello Zhau, I have a tip for you when you're in valk if you want to try. If you want to res that is a bit in the open, try to move in a small circle low to the ground while ressing during valk, the enemies most likely will miss you 90% of the time. Just a suggestion. 🙃 Anyways, keep up the amazing videos and gameplays. I've watched you everyday, and the reason why I'm a Mercy main now. 🥰
