Love the deep dive into one of my favorite movies! One other thing I noticed : when Walter breaks through the belief block by singing,😊 it reminds me of Horton Hears a Who, when the Whos had to shout to be noticed and not boiled on the dust speck and they found one person who was not shouting, and that one person made the difference ❤

Love this film. I was 17 when this came out and for me, it's a Christmas classic that I watch every year as part of my holiday traditions. 20 years later, I'm watching it with my wife and kids and they absolutely love it! I think every generation has their "classic Christmas" film and for mine, ELF definitely hovers around the top of the list. I'm just glad it holds up so well, so my kids can enjoy.👍🏽

I remember an article came out before this movie premiered, "He left SNL for this?" and it showed a photo of him jumping on the white lines of the crosswalk but jokes on them, this is a Christmas Classic. My family and I watch this at least twice each year.

I find it interesting that I barely noticed there was a book written about the movie in the movie but there’s a whole song about it in the musical version (and then buddy’s dad quits his job) [Elf was the first musical I ever did and now I’m reminiscing about it]

Others probably mentioned: Simon & Garfunkel did have their Concert in Central Park in 1981, followed by its album in 1982...so the newscaster in the movie was referring to some sequel concert in 1985.

@18:42 I think we do find out what Miles' pitch was by Walter's writers in the next scene when they find Miles' notebook. They mention that his "best idea" was a peach that lives on a farm. It may be a little contradictory considering Miles said "no farms" in the previous scene. But he's a bit of a diva so I wouldn't put it past his character to reject all of their ideas only to deliver a similar idea lol

@eavoss I remember watching the Simon and Garfunkel concert on HBO when I was very young, and I remember seeing someone rushing the stage to attack Paul Simon. I think in later broadcasts they edited the entire song out. Here’s what I just found: During the concert, there was one scary incident. When Simon's introduction of a new song entitled 'The Late Great Johnny Ace. ' A man ran into the stage during the lyrics concerning the death of former Beatle John Lennon. He was hustled off by park security personnel.
