One of the coolest things about this movie is that they didn’t use any digital effects to make Will Ferrell look bigger than the elves. They used old school, practical, optical illusions. If you watch the behind the scenes, it’s pretty fascinating.

I used to have this movie memorized lol. I always thought it was a bit messed up that the elves didn't have Buddy taking care of the reindeer, or something else he would be infinitely more suited to. Edit: the out of place animals on his journey to New York were a reference to the original Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer claymation movie

Believe or not, I watched this for the time this week and I loved it! I loved Buddy…enthusiastic, sweet and funny, such a great character! So many funny scenes to pick one but the dance in the mail room was hilarious! Great response!

For me what really made this movie was Will Ferrell playing the character straight. No wink to the camera. It’s not like many of his other roles. Buddy’s feelings are genuine and Ferrell plays it that way throughout. A modern Christmas classic.

Have you watched/reacted to "Scrooged"? Its a modern 80's comedy take on 'A Christmas Carol' starring Bill Murray. His character, Frank Cross, gets taken through the holiday ringer throughout the film and I think you all would get a real kick in reacting to this movie. When Ellie saw Schindler’s List, Leon: The Professional, and Joker, she saw them again wit Moon Sugar but several months later. Also, Magy saw Coco, The Princess Bride, Train To Busan, and Dumb And Dumber only to see them all again wit Laura but also several months later.

A lot of the outside scenes when he first got to New York were completely improvised and nobody on the street had any idea what was happening.’It was legit a few people following Will around with a camera, not a closed set Will stopping that guy in the crosswalk thinking he looked like Santa was 100% unscripted. That was not an actor

Just before you had to mention you're crying I was thinking about how unified NYC was afte 09-11-2001 in going to church and caring about others and thinking how this movie of them all singing together for Christmas in NYC was smart. Sorry if someone already pointed this out, but if you didn't know his father in this is the same actor who portrayed "Sonny" in "The Godfather"..I think you girls have reacted to that?..Not sure...His looks changed a lot from then, and I noticed a lot of younger audiences don't recognize him..He was also in "Misery"..Pretty sure you watched that one too..Unfortunately, he passed away very recently.
