Great points on the over blend . I think most people watch a lot of KZbin and aren’t purposeful in their blend . Put color exactly where you want it , light wash of blend and be forgiving of yourself . Life isn’t Instagram! I have been looking in store for this palette

Yeah I try to be alot more careful with brighter colors :) And I got this of the elf website in us because I dont think this will ever reach us in Sweden haha :P

Yes! Too many people are over blending the cool colors when they use the pallet. They are also using a base and transition that is warm toned then they add cool pigments. They are getting muddy looks because all the blending is simply mixing the colors.

I was born in the late sixties and when I was in kindergarten all the mothers coming to pick up their children were having an eye makeup like the one you have in this video! This brings back colorful memories!! And yet, it looks so good and contemporary on you!

I so agree. I blended my eyeshadow for half an hour in the morning. People who saw the before said it looked beautiful, but it didn't feel right to me, so I practiced my blending. I've come to realize you really need to practice makeup regularly to get good at it.

I enjoy the palette. I love the right side of the palette for my monochromatic looks, but when you held it up I could see making two looks using the first five colors on the left and the last five on the right. I might have to try that sometime. Love thelook you came up with!

I’m so happy you used ELF! I have many products from that line. I also have the Blush/Bronzer in the same shade. I live in Texas where the sun shines all of the time so I stay darker and it’s a nice shade of everyday blush for me.

Love this video! I've generally always avoided using blues, partly because my skin is so warm and partly because I don't know how so I really enjoyed that you explained how to use blues because I think I was trying too hard to blend it. I feel like my looks have gotten a little redundant and i own so many beautiful blues so I'll give it a go following your advice

I love all the mad for mattes. I was surprised at the quality! They are so good, and not just "good for the price", good shadows in general. I have the original and summer breeze. Thanks for addressing the issue of over blending. The cool pigments in the pallet contain more primary pigments. One could say that they are more "virgin". On the warmer end of the pallet, the shadows contain a variety of pigments that are mixed, to create the shadow colors. Too bad Elf does not offer a "sticky base" similar to the blue, shadow stick, you used. Many primary colors, such as the blue in that shadow pallet, are more sheer because that is how they appear in nature :) Thanks for demonstrating how to build the colors gradually!!

I have the elf bronzer duo. I like it a lit. I do agree the Sephora lip formula is fantastic, but the packaging is reminds of something from a dollar store.

This look is really pretty. I'm glad you like the palette and it works for you! Not the case for me. I am no stranger to these sort of colors. My eyes and these shadows don't like to play together. My eyes just eat these shadows. Opacity and longevity are big problems for me. Overall the palette is worth it, but I have to fight the jewel side in an epic battle. We've had different experiences in the past, I'm glad this is another case of that.

kristina erickson I have oily hooded lids. I have to use a matte primer, which can cause stick down issues with some formulations. If I need to use a stickier base, I need to layer that over something matte. If over blending is an issue for some shadows, my hooded lids will likely rub away color if the oils don't get to it first. 😫 Do you have the same problems?
