That is true. After watching the cartoon Elfen Lied, I decided to read the comic as well. While reading the comic of Elfen Lied, I started to like Bando even more. [SPOILER ALERT] I like Bando's honesty. He is deadly honest about his goals and his motives. For example, he literally said that his only reason of coming to that town was to kill someone. He doesn't even try to hide his objectives. Not being restrained by any social rules whatsoever, he also openly expresses condemnation and boredom whenever he feels like it: "This is ridiculous! I am done with this shit!" There is a lot that regular people can learn from Bando: his tremendous willpower to reach his goals (killing Lucy, despite his horrible injuries) and his honesty. I also like the character development of Bando. He was introduced as an overly aggressive and sadistic military guy who marvelled at the idea of killing people, BUT: 1. He hunts down a Diclonius (genetically altered human) for having murdered 24 innocent people. As much as he wants to kill people; he condemns going on a rampage, calling Diclonius "monsters", the opposite of peaceful and "the enemy of mankind". 2. Once helped, he feels obliged to return the favour. 3. He is deadly honest about his goals, his objectives and his emotions. 4. In the comic, he saved two little girls from a paedophile, intending to murder the paedophile afterwards, obviously condemning what the paedophile has done. 5. Despite constantly making death threats to people, being violent and bragging about having murdered women and children before, he didn't kill a single person in the whole series (both cartoon and comic). 6. In the comic, he saved Kurama's life when he was about to commit suicide. I can relate to Bando's honesty. For example, when I send a friend request to a strong looking girl on social media and she asks me why I have added her, I say: "I have added you as a friend to gain access to your photographs." This is the truth, the true reason behind my friend request, so I am not going to hide it. :-D I actually dislike people who lie about their intentions in order to increase the chance of success: manipulation using lies. For me, that is unacceptable.
