It doesn't actually. It's all in your mind. I didn't feel a little of what you are saying. To be fair it doesn't even matter all this shit. Reality is far worse than any bullshit crap shown in this show. No one is there beside you and you will only start to see the ugliness when you are the only one to experience it. You desperately search for someone to suffer with you as well rather than someone to save you. There is no place for some feeling of fantasy like hope in reality. We live in the world of lies, carry the Devil and express it in the form of emotions. These shows are cap since they don't give hope rather they are laugh at you by showing how pathetic and helpless you are in reality. Hated these craps always.

This song is more than just a theme to the show. When I hear about it. I think of Lucy's breaking point. Everything that caused her to give in to her own self and lose her mind; her puppy, her horns, kohta's lie. It's a song of insanity and insecurity, but that only makes it so much more beautiful. When you think about it Lucy/Kaede’s backstory was quite similar to that of Carrie’s: -They both were tragic protagonist/villains -They both were born with supernatural powers (Lucy had Vectors while Carrie had telekinesis) -They both were bullied because of their differences to everyone else. -They both were lonely with very few friends -They both reached their braking point in what was supposed to be a place of celebration (a prom with Carrie and a festival for Lucy) -Just before their breaking point, their lives seemingly was improving right before it came crashing down in front of them -They both lashed out after their breaking point by proceeding to indiscriminately slaughter scores of people innocent or not with their powers -They both temporarily stopped their killing spree, only to both their killing spree continue somewhere else (Carrie in her house and Lucy in a train) -They both also only realized what they have done after their second killing spree -And they both felt immense guilt for the people they killed in their seconds killing spree (Carrie’s Mom for Carrie and Kanae and Kouta’s dad for Lucy) It’s a shame that they could’ve gotten a happy ending if they weren’t social outcasts and bullied for their differences. For example, hundreds of innocent people that attending the prom in Carrie would’ve still been alive and many other people could’ve also gotten a happy ending in Elfen Lied. Kurama could’ve lived a happy family life with Mariko, his wife and potentially Nana. Kouta’s family would’ve still been alive and Kouta never would’ve gotten mentally scarred by the incident which would mean that Lucy could’ve gotten the friend she need for years. Which would that all of the other Diclonius would’ve been born as regular children and (potentially lived a regular childhood) which would also mean that hundreds of other people still would been alive. Which includes Aiko (assuming that she didn’t survive the gunshot wound) as she and Lucy would’ve never been found at the mall because Kurama would’ve never lead a search for her after realizing their was a Diclonius queen after Number 3 infected him and the other scientist. So in the end if they were never bullied, the dominos would’ve never fallen and hundreds of other people could’ve gotten their happy ending and survived.

I am a person who usually doesn't like Anime for many reasons, but I remember my first time watching Elfen Lied, and I am addicted to it. True, there are indeed some elements of it I don't like, mainly some exaggerated scenes and *cough* the emphasis on Buka's butt in episode 6. But the entire storyline is amazing, and Lilium is so eerie and beautiful. I have listened to the song so many times, but your version still gives me chills and a bit of euphoria, compared to the tragic original. I absolutely LOVE IT!

I don't think Nyu died in the series! Lucy lost both horns towards the end meaning she died and was replaced by Nyu's personality And when that person was standing at the door at the end, it was definitely a girl and she had the same stance as Nyu as well! And the clock went off meaning it was fixed and Nyu was trying to fix it during the series, and the music box stopped playing so obviously the music box stopping means the death of Lucy and the clock striking (when it was broken before) means Nyu returned and fixed it and it shows it was her at the door! It couldn't be anyone else except either Lucy or Nyu but it makes more sense that Nyu is still alive and returned home

My only complaint against Elfen Lied was how short it was. Only 13 episodes to barely sum up a manga that was over 50 chapters. HOWEVER. The beauty that is the song Lilium, the depth of the plot, and the even deeper, ambiguous ending and AMAZING character development in the main story and the OVA make this anime among the top ten in my roster. Final grade: STRONGLY RECOMMEND (18+ only due to gore and H-related content) Easily 8.5/10, if not a 9

I remember hearing this exact version of lilium in so many good creepypastas such as Borrasca. After I watched elfen lied, the music sounded so familer, yet I couldn't put my finger on it. After doing some digging, I come to find that the song was a lilium cover written by Myuu. Should have guessed it sooner. I guess this song has been with me forever.
