Elgato Facecam mk2 Review and Demo

Elgato Face cam Honest Review, The overall image quality is descent but the cam always looks a little grainy, however its stilly better image quality than any budget webcam i have tried, is the elgato facecam mk2 worth the 150 bucks? Omg, this video is the only video I've found that emphasizes how GRAINY this camera truly is. I was looking for a 1080p 60fps webcam to replace my c920 and almost everyone who did a review (and has a ton of views on it) had crystal clear footage from it which had me sold on it. Last night I was troubleshooting for hours trying to remove the grain and I just could not. I thought maybe it was because my room wasn't lit enough (still grainy even after I put more light) but clearly you debunked that in your video. It looks awful and I feel upset and lied to by all those reviewers and now have trust issues about reviews on what to buy next... Thank you for being honest, you've gained a sub out of me. Is there a 1080p 60fps webcam that isn't grainy and works well with low lighting that you'd honestly recommend?

Unfortunately I think most webcams just look like webcams, there are some nicer ones that you can get in the 500 plus dollar price range but that's getting really expensive, most of those do have some pretty cool features and whatnot but probably still don't look as good as a real camera. I think the least expensive way to get a good looking webcam, if you don't mind something that does 1080 footage you can find like an old Sony a6000 or a6200 for 2 or 300 bucks used, sometimes that comes with a lens and then you can buy a El gato cam link capture card or even One of those $30 capture cards off of Amazon seem to work very well, you just need to make sure the camera has a clean HDMI out and won't shut off every 20 or 30 minutes like some cameras are programmed to do if you're using it for a webcam but those old Sony alphas or even one of the new Sony alphas ran into a capture card as the best quality you're going to get unfortunately if you're looking Bray newer model that does 1080 you're looking about 600 bucks for the camera used or about 800 bucks for the camera new or if you want to hire in model you can spend 12 or $3,000 on the camera but honestly for a few hundred bucks you can get a used Sony a6000 or 6200, a cheap capture card and even the $99 Sony kit lens is going to be more than good enough to get nice footage, k e h camera often has some of those old Sony alpha cameras used for cheap I mean I've seen m4 as low as 175 bucks up to like 300 bucks for the camera body, sometimes that comes with the lens and they have ratings like poor condition decent condition excellent like new conditions so you know exactly what you're getting when you buy something from them, back when I was doing photography I used to buy and sell and trade to that company and was always very satisfied, hopefully they're still awesome company, it's been several years since I've purchased or sold anything there but I would go look at KEH.com and see if you can find the old Sony alpha camera I think any of the a6000 series will do what you need or even the a5900 but those are so old it's really hard to get them anymore, if you can find one of those it's usually dirt cheap though but honestly I don't think anybody's going to complain about a nice looking 1080p footage, but when it comes to actual webcams I haven't found anything that was really what I would call good but I think this webcam is nice but it is a little grainy but it's probably the best thing you're going to get for under 200 bucks unless you can find a heck of a deal on one of those old Sony alpha cameras like a 5900 or a 6,000 or a 6200

I'm not sure how's some of those guys that reviewed this made it look so good, pretty sure they use color correction on a outside application like a video editor like I showed in this video which isn't fair because that's not how this thing actually looks unless you doctor it up. Or maybe some people get a better one than others I don't know. But I've honestly seen a lot of webcam reviews where the person reviewing it has awesome video quality and then if you get the webcam that's not what it's actually like and I've seen that on a lot of Logitech webcams and stuff like this so I think they're fixing it up kind of a pride just to try and be like hey use my affiliate link and buy stuff I don't know but I've never had a webcam that was really that great I mean this one looks nice but I think some people are going to be put off by all the grain. I don't really mind it cuz I think the overall picture qualities decent and it's not blowing out the highlights and stuff like that but yeah

@Danny-Lightning--Audio-Tech they could be using other apps. And it's a worse grain in the recording before you upload to youtube. KZbin compresses and gets some grain out as well
