I need to switch to a certain app i labeled on the stream deck for some reason this simple task is complicated or cant be done. I have at least 4 apps running OBS, the current game i am streaming, a wordpad doc that has my hotas documentation, A jpg i want open in paint to reference my azeron keymap. It would be nice to have picture of each on the stream deck and have it switch to that app. If i use the arrows like you recommended which is basically just Alt-Tab and shift-alt-tab any other background apps come and it gets confussing.

I would suggest just have 1 key specifically for switching between monitors. I can't tell you about your other stuff, but sounds like you have a lot going on.

Question, i have 2 macs. 1 is a mac mini and the other is my wife’s macbook air and we use 1 monitor. Is there a way to have the stream deck switch from one mac to another? If that makes any sense?

Not really, but if Y’all want to use a kvm switch maybe. If Y’all use iPhones Stream Deck Mobile would fix this asap.

I mean to get back on this, iPad Pro lets you split screen and use the mobile version and link 2 PC's too it. I'm sure it works the same on Macs.

@@iLadyVic That'd be awesome. I just got my Stream Deck mk2 in from Black Friday sale and have been trying to figure it out looking on Stream Deck labs website, but can't seem to figure it out. Not sure the easiest way to do it, if it's even possible.

I’ve sorta shelved mac os. However, I may think about it, depending on if I have space to do so. It’s not at the top of my priority list at this time.

The hotkey switch is kind of limited because it's "dumb". It's probably not Stream Deck's fault nor in their control but, for example, if I set the hotkey switch to record my screen and blink red when it's recording and then the other switch is to stop recording and stop blinking, it's easy for the button icons to reverse. Let's say I press the record button on the stream deck. Video starts recording, stream deck button blinks red. Let's say I then stop the video recording but without using the stream deck button (I use my keyboard, or I select stop recording with mouse, or program/recording crashes). Well, since the Stream Deck is "dumb", the Stream Deck button will still be flashing as if recording was going on even though it stopped - so the icon is reversed relative to what's happening (recording off). Then, when I press the Stream Deck button to start recording again, the Stream Deck button will actually switch to the not-recording icon even though it just enabled recording since the Stream Deck was using the blinking recording icon already. Another example is if I set the Stream Deck (SD) hotkey switch as a headlights on/off for, let's say, a vehicle videogame. I set 2 different icons for the SD switch button, one with a brightly glowing light icon, one with a non-glowing light icon. Let's say I turn the headlights on and press the button - I'll get the proper glowing light icon like I should. Let's say I then exit the racing track in the videogame and go back to the pits to make some changes to the car's settings. After, when I go back out on track, the vehicle's headlights will be off because they're always off at first by default. Well, even though the headlights are off, the SD button's icon will still be indicating they're on. Then, when I press the SD button to turn the car's headlights on, the car's headlights will indeed turn on but the SD button's icon will actually switch to the lights-off icon since it was already on the lights-on icon previously. I think program-specific "plugins" can alleviate this by essentially making the SD "smart". I noticed the OBS recording plugin would never have the above issues. If the recording video button was blinking red due to OBS recording, the button would go back to the non-recording icon if OBS stopped recording even if the SD button itself wasn't pressed - and vice-versa. That is how it should always be but, if I'm correct, this can only be done if someone specifically programs (via plugins) the SD for a specific program and the specific feature within the program (eg. program: OBS, feature: recording on/off).

Some applications do not have plugins, and some do. If you set a hotkey function and then choose to use something other than the stream deck, it could cause the issue mentioned in your comment. I think you may have vented as well, I'm not an Elgato employee, but they do have a feature request as a suggestion. If you set the function to be on a stream deck, best to follow through with using the stream deck. Also, in the future please don't vent on my comment section because of your frustration with examples of your issues. I understand your experience, but I make these videos to be helpful, not have people dump their personal issues on me. I hope you send in your suggestion to Elgato's feature request, best of luck to you.
