The wave 3 has noticeably more detail in the high end, whereas the wave 1 lacks the same clarity. If you are using this just to stream raw audio, there will be no noticeable difference. If you are using vocal processing effects prior to sending this to OBS, or using this mic for double duty in music production, the 3 will be much better to work with.

$130 and $160 is pretty good pricing for these, provided they become available at that listed price (no official sellers on amazon or their own site). @@lntg There is no point in getting XLR, it requires so much more and this microphone is perfect anyways what do you mean, GOXLR has been sold out for the past 3 months and it is extremely overpriced, $500 for a mixer plus $229 for a mic and then another $100 for a boom arm and then another $30 for a pop filter and then xlr cable, that is not worth it compared to just a $160 mic and $70 for pop filter and stand plus $100 for a boom arm, oh and the GOXLR stand is another $100 so yeah no I'm good, when they actually put it on sale then it will be worth it. Elgato wave 3 is superior by leaps and bounds, dude... If you're gonna buy an Elgato, skip the wave 1 and go straight for wave 3. Wave 1 does not have noise cancelling, or peak cancelling, it only has a single-function volume dial, it's garbage. Do not buy a HyperX mic, ever... If you want a cheap mic, Razers Seiren Mini is the best of the best... If you want a quality USB mic, Elgato Wave 3 is the best of the best. :P Anything else is terrible price to performance ratio... Is the wave link software worth the difference between the wave 1 and hyperx quadcast? I much prefer the aesthetic of the hyperx quadcast but of course the wave link software would be extremely useful. Other videos I've watched showed the built-in pop filter of the wave to be lacklustre so the $30 pop filter seems kind of necessary unless you're keeping a good distance from the mic?
@norrisnutsfan283 жыл бұрын
From my understanding, the hyperx quadcast doesn't even have a software so you'd need the Elgato wave software but that only works when you have a wave 1 or 3. So if someone you know has one you could probably make the software work without owning one. All a pop filter does is make (mostly) the sound when you say "s" make it less aggressive and hiss but if your mic doesn't do that, you probably don't need one unless you want it
@norrisnutsfan283 жыл бұрын
