Yeah that software does look really cool. Though if you want something that works almost exactly like that and doesn't require an Elgato microphone, then Voicemeeter Banana or Voicemeeter Potato are what you're after. They're donationware as well so give them a go and if you like them, go and donate to them. I'd be interested to see a video from you about these software.

I think I prefer the Rode. It has a nice warm sound to it very similar to an XLR.

when you compared the nt usb to the wave, you firstly had the wave about twice the distance from your mouth, and secondly for the keyboard test, the rode was resting on the keyboard. this will send the shock from pressing the keys through to the capsule more than just resting it an equal distance from the keyboard to the elgato.

yah not a good comparison check on the third mic their holding it manually as well. Which is also not a good representation since its not even touching the table to show how much/little is picked up from table/keyboard interaction

The audio test was a little flawed, the mic is supposed to be up to your mouth, maybe 3 inches away in order to really capture voice as intended, a foot and a half away makes it hard to determine the difference in quality, XLR is much better at removing the sound in the room coming from behind the mic (the keyboard) which USB has no ability to do.

i see a lot of people recommending voicemeeter as an alternative and while the program is great (i've personally used it before) it has a big con. voicemeeter is notorious for bugging out during a recording or a live stream and either completely muting your audio or going static and robotic. the only way to reset it is to shut down the software and open it back up again. however, when you're recording or live streaming, you often don't notice it happening. it's been a while since i've used voicemeeter (stopped for that very reason) and unless they've completely patched that issue, i wouldn't recommend it as an alternative

Actually that is not the only way to restart it, their is a "reset audio engine" option in the big "Menu" button its literally the first option.

so wait, i HAVE to connect my headphone to the mic? otherwise the software cant do it's thing properly? i have been doing this just fine for ages with VACs and voicemeeter... all this software does is create VACs and then you use the windows audio config (available since april 2018 if i am not wrong) to set where each application goes...

If your doing youtube and need a good mic just buy an at2020 for 100$ ur not gonna hear a difference if your making music it has a very low noise floor so mixing will make anything u record sound professional i use it myself
