@@345optimusprime No hate. Giant fans respect Brady and we hold Belicheck in high regard too since he was the DC in both our Super Bowl wins in 86 and 90. And it's silly to say "Eli owns Brady". Eli and Brady don't go against each other. Still, Pats fans have their own hate too. Call the Giants lucky in both Super Bowl wins over them. Facts are the Giants outplayed them both times. Not dominated, but definitely outplayed them. Both games the ball was in Eli's hands with under 3 minutes to play. Both times Eli led his team to the winning TD. Not unlike this game! I watched it. Man, the Giants and Pats that season were like Ali and Frazier, just punch, counter-punch, gave no quarter. Really fun for Giant fans to watch.

And Eli would do it to Brady for a THIRD time in Super Bowl XLVI the following February.
@FindingPeace2011 ай бұрын
Let's not whitewash history. The Patriots were convicted for spying/taping opponents game day plans i.e. "use of equipment to videotape an opposing team's offensive and defense plays and signals." As a result, the Patriots were fined $500K. This was the largest fine in the NFL's 87 year history at the time. This happened during their first 3 Superbowl run. Brady also benefited from the Tuck Rule in the AFC Championship game where he fumbled and lost the game. Some 20 years later, Brady would admit he actually did fumble. Brady was then convicted of deflating footballs. His ball boys deleted all communications with Brady and Brady destroyed his phone in an effort to cover up Deflategate. Brady was suspended for 4 games. It should be noted that Brady sued and won but was "open to accepting some form of suspension, but only if it can be for failing to cooperate with the NFL rather than admitting to the findings." Why is deflating footballs an advantage to Brady? Well when a ball is deflated it is easier to catch in cold weather and it would be easier to secure the ball when being tackled thus preventing the likelihood of a fumble. Keep in mind that each team uses their own balls so this only benefitted Brady and the New England offense. Then there's the seldom mentioned wire tapping of opponents lock room to get key information. There were a few ex-Patriot players who have confirmed this rumor. The NFL was made aware of the wire tapping allegations so they sent out an email stating that they'll be doing locker room sweeps on a particular day thus giving any team who was cheating ample noticed to remove any such devices. The Patriots also stole play sheets from their opponents locker room, and crazy as this sounds, got information from their opponents hotel rooms. Also, is it possible to acknowledge a potential racial element without making this about race? Well here is my attempt: Imagine if Mike Vick was in New England instead of Brady...let's stop right there! Your immediate reaction was probably "they wouldn't have won all those rings." Well let's say for the sake of this argument that he did win all those rings. With that in mind, would Vick be considered in the conversation as the goat? The answer is no, but more importantly, this controversy would have followed Vick. Let's not go down a racial rabbit hole here, that previous statement was for you to be honest with yourself and absorb/internalize what Vick instead of Brady in New England would have looked like (assuming they won all those rings of course). I view Brady as Bill Russell - the most winningness player but not the best. He was good though but there are and were a number of QB's better. Has any ever noticed how 95% of his passes were thrown under the first down marker? This included games when they were down double-digits. However, Brady had some legendary comebacks - stuff made of legends. In order to acknowledge that other QB's are better, one would have to put aside Suberbowl wins. For instance, Marino was better than Roethlisberger but one QB had multiple rings while the other had zero. Your takeaway from this lengthy comment could be that I am a Patriot or Brady hater but I literally just wanted to document the history because this NFL channel, Fox Sports, ESPN, and Ex-NFL turned KZbinrs do not mention this. It is as if it never happened. amp.theguardian.com/sport/2015/sep/08/report-patriots-spied-on-rivals-40-times-and-stole-play-sheets-from-locker-rooms

@davezarvan2 ай бұрын
@@packersauburneric3625 Agreed. The 2011 season was my all-time favorite NFL season and it's not even close. I grew up in Green Bay, so as you might guess I'm a Packers fan. Even though the Packers were the defending champions and went 15-1, that was far from the only reason it was my favorite season. After only having been done twice in NFL history prior to that season, three different QBs (Brady, Brees, and Stafford) threw for over 5,000 yards, and Eli Manning was over 4,900 yards too. I remember New Year's Day 2011, ESPN dubbed it the Year of the QB, and they were right and then some. It was also the first time that the Texans ever made the playoffs and the first time the Lions made it in the 21st century. Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski also broke the record for most receiving yards by a tight end in a season at the time. And, you can't forget about that year being Tebow Mania. Despite being a Packers fan, I always was a fan of Peyton and Eli Manning too, so by extension I liked the Colts (later Broncos) and Giants. Even though Peyton did not play a single snap that year recovering from surgery, I guess Eli decided to carry the mantle for both of them and had his best ever season. After being asked in the preseason if he considered himself an elite QB and boldly saying yes, he backed it up with his play that year resoundingly. And the playoffs that year had some incredible games, including Tim Tebow's playoff win (the 3:16 Game) on the first play of OT and the Saints-49ers instant classic with 4 combined TDs in the final 4:02 of the game, with the Vernon Davis winning catch with 9 seconds left being called The Catch III. Both conference championship games were as good as it gets, with Billy Cundiff missing a short field goal for the Ravens to send the game into OT allowing the Patriots to win, and Eli Manning delivering one of the gutsiest and toughest performances ever in the rain and mud and the Giants capitalizing on two 49ers punt return fumbles, and Lawrence Tynes kicking the winning FG in OT to rematch with the Patriots in the Super Bowl. And Super Bowl XLVI was a great way to end the season. In his brother's home stadium, Eli Manning capped off what is still today the single greatest postseason by a QB and the Giants handed another defeat to Tom Brady and the Patriots in a Super Bowl. And the very first play of the Giants game winning drive was the incredible Mario Manningham sideline catch, and it ended with Ahmad Bradshaw accidentally scoring because the Patriots were letting him score so they'd have time, and Bradshaw tried to stop but still fell into the end zone. The Patriots got into Hail Mary territory, but couldn't get it done, and Eli Manning, Justin Tuck, and the Giants once again made America happy with Tom Brady and the Patriots losing another Super Bowl to them. Sorry this got really long, and props to you if you are still reading this. But there were that many great moments that season, and I will always stand by that I believe it was the single greatest and most entertaining season in NFL history.
