At that point 30 other teams in the NFL should have tried really hard to determine how Coughlin and the Giants had the Patriots number. Instead we've had to watch embarrassing coaching jobs against the Pats, a division with Bills, Jets, Dolphins fold like a bunch of cheap suits almost every year for 18 years...save for one season when brady went down...even then Belichick posted 11-5. The Giants made more exceptional plays in their two SB wins over the Pats. In their first meeting, do you remember the go ahead touchdown for the Pats? One man covering Moss one and one...Moss left the line and the DB was falling on his ass, ten yourds of separation to Moss.... You have to watch these games to see how Manning and the Giants really manned up...no way was Brady gonna rip their hearts out.

The crazy thing: out of the 14 seasons Manning played, only 7 were above .500. They lead their division in only 3 of those seasons. They made it to 6 playoffs, 3 of which ended in the Wild Card, one ended in Divisional, and two ended in a Super Bowl win. It's not the greatest overall record, save for those Super Bowls. But goddamn, those 2007 and 2011 playoff runs... I would seriously argue it earned him a spot in the HOF.
@Grimreepa2209 ай бұрын
@heyheyhey33351 He didn't have a losing record from 2005-2012. He definitely didn't have enough talent his second half of the year and a poor front office. That game against San Fran in 2012 NFC champ game says enough about his toughness.

Eli Manning had to get past the Wild Card round, then they had to upset the 15-1 Green Bay Packers IN LAMBEAU FIELD in the divisional round (final score was 37-20 BTW), and then they had to go to San Fran to take on the 13-3 49ers in the NFC Championship game, and a defense that would end up hitting Eli Manning 28 times and sacking him 9 times. @@stealthiscool I never said he deserved to be one. But he's going to be whether you like it or not. 2-0 with 2 SB MVPs against the GOAT Tom Brady and BB. Case closed for the voters. First SB win cemented his position in the HOF. Second one turned him into a 1st ballot one.

Branch and Welker drops costed the pats this game. Eli Manning turning into superman for one play costed the pats in 2007. The 2017 Pats being unable to stop a fly despite Brady throwing 500 yards in a single super bowl. Brady could of easily had 10 rings. Thats fucking crazy.

Giants defense had alot to do with that buddy...and Brady has been very lucky also Tuck rule and the Falcons making history being brainless...

It's hilarious that Bill undermined Manningham's ability to make clutch catches of that longevity.. at that point in the game.Telling his corners to revert to coverage on Cruz and Nicks. Makes the Manning to Manningham catch right directly in front of Bill too. Talk about eating your words lol .

It’s funny how two franchises go in opposite directions after a Super Bowl. Since this game: The Giants have had only one other playoff appearance (2016) and two winning seasons. Meanwhile, New England has won three more Super Bowl wins, 8 more winning seasons, and 7 AFC Championship appearances.

That’s what I tell cocky Giants fans. Us Pats fans won the long game, doubling our SB wins since with a variety of talent. I’d rather 6 Super Bowls than 2 fluke wild card seasons. Consistency is everything
@TheAireaidLord4 жыл бұрын
James Dickman someone’s salty about the facts. I don’t give a shit about the head to head record Eli has garbage stats down the stretch except for these two fluke seasons where their defense played lights out. Brady DID win the long game and has far more success than Eli ever did.

What was great about that Super Bowl is that it started out slow, then turned into a shootout. Brady and Delhomme were both on fire.

Eli was fearless, during both of his Super bowl wins against the mighty Patriots, he kept his composure and never allowed the moment to overcome him, especially when they were down. He took full advantage of the moment. Kudos to you Eli Manning.

I was 14 years old at the time. As a Giants fan, I can remember me and my mother holding our breaths when Tom Brady throw a hail mary. To be fair, he threw it so high and so good, and then all of the sudden they were there and the ball dropped to the ground, and in that moment, the game was over. 😁🏈

Hands down the greatest throw of all time 15:30. The Ben Roethlisberger to Holmes doesn’t even compare because that was a 10 yard pass while this was as a 40 yard bomb under pressure. Also right in Belichick’s face
