We were out at Perris Raceway for the '23 Alpinestars gear launch and got Chase and Eli to sit down together and talk about how their historic 2022 MX 450 title battle played out from their perspective and their strategy going to 2022 MXdN as teammates!
Huge thanks to Alpinestars for the hospitality and to Chase and Eli for taking the time to sit down with us. Thanks for all the epic battles this summer!

These 2 guys are such amazing reps for our sport. They fought tooth and nail all year, clean and with respect. Now they are sitting together and having a few laughs even. Amazing men. Great for the youth coming up. Far to regular these days for our leader to lead with spite and vitriol. Thank you Chase and thank you Eli

The respect has been awesome between these two definitely the best season I’ve ever seen since I started watching motocross in 2001. I love that in a few weeks they will be teammates racing for USA I think they are going to absolutely kill it together, we just need Cooper to perform.

I feel the same way. Pure class. Just a season of respectful, clean racing, and obviously, it could have gone either way. They brushed each other a few times, and took turns doing a few exaggerated last-lap look-backs towards the end of the series, and that’s as bad as it got! So enjoyable. Nothing but speed and fitness, and pushing the bikes to the limit. Man, it must be uncomfortable for each of them to be sitting there like that, but I guess they might as well get used to it!

Even if not everything goes right USA will win I expect. Chase and Eli are insane this year. Cooper is still a great rider and I got the feeling MXGP is just not at the level they were last years. Team Netherlands (were I am from) was still 3rd with 2 DNF's in 2018. However almost everyone is very proud to ride for their flag, people in USA are more motivated to do good for their country due to how you are raised at school to honer your flag. When we honer our flag like that some people from Europe will call you nazi. 😂

There is 3 different classes so they can both be 1-1 cooper is the big question

@@sutreB wtf! So weak dude. That’s why America is where we are….or were I guess. These days we’ve lost touch with what the flag represents and to love and fight for our homeland. Not all of us though.

@@willvanderhoof873 I thought that was the case, was wondering why saying 1-2. And by the way Cooper will do good, he already has, this year been riding good best American by far, and has really good starts
@MrCycledude10
@MrCycledude10 2 жыл бұрын
@@willvanderhoof873 no they can’t. Yes there is 3 classes, but the final race is both 450 classes together, which means Chase and Eli will be racing together in the final moto. So only one of them could go 1-1 on the day. And then hopefully the other one goes 1-2 or 2-1. The race order is; Moto 1: MXGP class (Tomac) and MX2 class (Cooper). Moto 2: MX2 class and OPEN class (Sexton). Moto 3: MXGP class and OPEN class

Although we like rivalries, it's awesome to see the two title combants just casually chatting. There in chance no way RC and Stew can sit down and chat. Our sport progressed so much as we have instances of this, good sportsmanship and passing down the torch to the next generation to Sexton. I just hope Eli stays involved with the sport after retirement and or better yet give Chase the opportunity to ride and train at his ranch 😳 All in the future, wishing the best of luck for them at MxDn perfect opportunity to get it this year.

I just watched this and it’s very cool to see the mutual respect they have for each other. I also wanted to say that at the end it sounded to me like Chase was unaware that Roger has raced the MXdN many times, he was a five time world champion in MX and by the time he came to the United States he was past his prime but he still gave our best riders hell. Bob Hannah was a fiercely competitive cantankerous SOB and years later in an interview he said he’s glad he never had to race Roger in his prime because he had doubts if he could beat him, and I remember Roger being interviewed after a win and the topic of endurance came up, Roger said the race really begins at about 30 minutes in a 45 minute moto. Roger was not only as professional as they come but he was also an absolutely relentless beast on the track and the best ambassador any sport ever had.

I'll be honest, for whatever reason I couldn't stand Sexton at the beginning of supercross but after that season and then his performances and demeanor this summer I've grown to be a fan. He's an extremely smart kid and isnt the arrogant kid I thought he was at all. Don't get me wrong I was rooting for ET3 but these two were leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else out there this summer. I REALLY wish Ferrandis would've been out there and been healthy. I can't stop wondering if he would've picked it up and ran that pace. That would've made it the best summer of Motocross in a longggggg time, I mean it still was honestly. I hope these guys ride to their full potential at MXON. Our nation needs something to cheer about! 🇺🇲
