I was there (my 5th time at Budds Creek). One of the best races I've ever been to, along with Pontiac SX 2002. That moment with Carmichael & Everts riding a lap around the track with the theme from Rocky playing on the loudspeakers, ... freaking GOOSEBUMPS man! This was the race that made me a Villopoto fan. That dude smoked the entire field, including Carmichael!

Theoretically we could of dropped that one point for a perfect score... or went the opposite with a James crash out. Just don’t know with that guy till the flag waves

We missed out on it in 06 too when ricky got hurt at Glen Helen, it would of been the same exact team potentially but we missed it both years.

Ferry rode the race of his life after getting taken out by a euro (probably on purpose lol) coming from way back to 4th. That was a epic ride! I wish I would’ve been able to see this one in person. Truly a epic race for the Americans & it being RC’s final race.

On the positive, great job by Team USA again, not just winning, but dominating the competition on home turf. Also, full marks to the British commentator, who always does an admirable job. On the negative, waaay too much pre-race preliminarys, albeit interesting, but not at the expense of what we all want to see; more actual race footage. Why was I able to watch last years Des Nations event as a 2 hour and almost 30 minute video with full coverage of all 3 motos? Did I luck out? Why aren't all these Des Nations full-coverage events?

After decades of Japanese bikes being dominant, and the only competitive machines, have they ever even came close to a podium finish? It always seemed strange that riders who were no longer competitive in the US could make a living by racing in Japan and dominating their national championship. Wasn't Jeff "Chicken" Matasevich the reason that Japan changed the rules to prevent riders from other countries from competing in and winning the Japan nationals?
@chrismilyo3702 Жыл бұрын
Roger holding that trophy is comical. Your time is over, you're behind the scenes. Let the riders get their credit.
@parsonscarlson79849 күн бұрын
You obviously have no respect for "The Man." If it weren't for De Coster's leadership as team manager, America wouldn't have won 1/2 the Des Nations championships. You and I have no idea of De Coster's contributions behind the scenes, but you can bet your butt it was always what Team USA needed to perform as well as it has. Have some respect for the GOAT of his day.
