Those is captivity definitely have (*COUGHSeaWorldCOUGH*), but that's bc they're in the equivalents to a bathtub prison forced to perform and barely get the same amount of food wild ones do, and thus are stressed as all hell, and yet capitalism never cares to understand that bc they care more for money than animal welfare. x.x Orcas in the wild don't have to usually deal with humans and thus aren't forced to suffer that level of stress the unfortunate captive ones do. The incidents with the boats and stuff I just assume is them thinking they own the place (and technically they do ocean-wise to an extent)

Corvids in general - and crows and ravens in particular - are way more intelligent than you may think. If you ever have the opportunity to do a deep dive on corvid behavior, it will definitely be worth your time. They absolutely do recognize individual humans, and we actually learned this alongside a few other interesting things. Researchers will sometimes tag flocks of crows for tracking purposes, and part of this involves retrieving dead crows to check for disease. In several cases, they've had to start wearing masks when they do this because the crows would recognize the humans responsible for taking away their dead and would become especially agitated or aggressive around those specific humans, and *only* those humans, remaining mostly ambivalent towards other passersby who didn't bother them. Concealing the face helped to stop this. This goes to show that not only are they capable of recognizing individual human faces, but that they are self-conscious enough to have an awareness of death and will become upset in some way if their dead are disturbed. That said, the opposite is also true. If you feed a crow, it will become friendlier to the specific people who feed them and will sometimes bring back items that they find around their habitat in exchange for the food. This is unlike other animals who are more likely to equate humans-in-general with food and probably wouldn't bother trying to trade with you either. Several of them also know how to use basic tools. Some have been known to sharpen twigs with their beaks to retrieve insects or fruit from hard-to-reach places. The old folk tale about the crow using stones to raise the water level in a bucket is almost certainly based on a real event because crows have in fact been observed doing exactly this. They'll put nuts or shellfish in crosswalks to let a car crack the shell, and then cross with the light to go get their food. They're clever little guys and deserve way more recognition for it.

Zebra pattern is verry useful for them: 1 - Most african predadors don't see colors, so them being black and white isn't much better then any other color. 2 - The pattern on their fur make it dificult for predators to clearly distinguish the zebra from the background, specially when they are moving, making so that they have more dificult landing a strike. 3 - Continuing the previous point, when several zebras are close together (wich they usually are), they mesh together in the eyes of the predators, so that it's really hard for them to pinpoint a single individual to target. There is no REGISTRY of an orca killing a human IN NATURE. They have killed humans in captivity. And they MIGHT have killed humans at some point without it being documented.

While there are no records of a wild Orca killing a human or going out of their way to hurt one (though that do grief on boats a lot), there are plenty of cases of captive Orca hurting and even killing people. In SeaWorld alone there have been over 200 records of aggressive incidents between Orca and people. This can include lunging, biting, jumping onto their trainers, or playing with them like their trainer is the worlds biggest rag doll. There are also four instances where captive Orca have killed people, three of them perpetrated by the same animal. Tilikum, the whale who was so messed up he got a while documentary focused on him (Blackfish), had killed three people over his lifetime. The fourth death was caused by one of his sons. Tilikum is the main reasons why most places won't let their trainers get in the water with the animals. They didn't want to risk the negative PR of having a killer chilling in their parks (It has nothing to do with keeping their workers safe, I assure you). Because unsurprisingly, jamming an apex predator of the oceans into a fish boll and treating them like a circus clown is a really good way to spike up your health insurance.

And yes, magpies have fantastic memories and know who should be there. I was a postie and actually had a family of magpies that followed me when l changed my route, so they could swoop from another direction. I have also seen one who continued swooping another postie for ½ a round. His helmet was covered in the magpis blood but the bird continued swooping. And yes they will swoop the same people year after year

There have been plenty of cases where captive orcas have attacked/ended humans there’s no records of them being responsible for attacks in the wild. As far as Keas go, they are absolute adorable bastards to the point where we have a car dealership/rental service named Kea just cause. We also have Australian magpies which are more wide-spread but because we have very few predators here they’re usually less aggressive.

@@brigidtheirish So explain how and why these Orcas, who are highly intelligent creatures and very capable of easily attacking and killing humans who are vulnerable in the open ocean have never been registered officially on documents to have reportedly directly killed a human in the wild, (note that I specifically outlined that we don't know if they did, but there is no proof that they did either) yet they seemingly have killed people in captivity for the same reason other people got killed from other animals in captivity. Also what's your point about the vast majority of animals not killing people in captivity mean exactly ? Because the vast majority aren't top predators like Orcas and tigers, and the vast majority of animals don't get interactions like that of Orcas and how one interacts with tigers. You literally prove that by saying why humans have gotten killed by other animals in captivity. Which also comes back to the fact that an Orca being wild has nothing to do with why they killed people which was my initial point. Also the reason why dolphins and orcas love interacting is because they are social animals is correct, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are a highly developed animals in not only intelligence, but society, culture and even their own language, they want to be in open waters where they belong with their family, they might do enjoy performing in the beginning, but their is a massive amount of research and documented evidence and registered incidents that have shown they experience stress and cause self harm and even sometimes kill themselves or others while being in captivity, so again, it really doesn't change what I said at all, there is simple exceptions to the rule.

4:49 zebras have that pattern because they it helps a confuse predators when they are running because the patterns blend together when they run making it hard to find a specific zebra to hunt since they go after the weaker ones or the zebras that are alone.

Nah, Orcas have never attacked a human being in the wild. They just don't do it. In captivity they'll live up to their nickname in a hurry, but in the ocean? Nope. If one ever has killed a human it has never been reported. And we know about the times they've killed Moose. So if they have killed a human in the wild it was a long, LONG time ago. They do fuck with boats a lot though, even going as far to sink smaller ones sometimes, but they still don't attack the humans that were in the boat they sunk.
