Without looking at any lists and off the top of my head, players who would easily warrant at the very least equality to Pettersson, or better than him easily. Anaheim - Getzlaf, Rackell. Boston - Pastrnak, Marchand, Bergeron, Buffalo - Eichel, Skinner, Reinhart, Calgary - Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuck, Ekholm, Carolina - Aho, Terovanin, Chicago - Kane, Toews, Colorado - MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Columbus - Panarin, Atkinson, Dallas - Seguin, Benn, Radulov, Detroit - Larkin, Edmonton - McDavid, Draisaitl, Florida - Huberdeau, Barkov, Trochek. There's 30 right there and I haven't even gotten to LA alphabetically, leaving more than half of the league untouched (including Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Matthews, Kucherov etc) Just please....

I don't care what other Fans say about him or the Vancouver Canucks. I have been a hockey fan since 1982. I have seen most of the best players to ever play hockey live and in Person. He will be spoken along side Wayne Gretzky when he finishes his career. He may never get as many points. But he will have an impact like him. I'm just thankful he's a Canuck. How could the 4 teams ahead of the Canucks in his draft year, pass on him? Because of his size is my guess. All of those teams scouts should be fired.

Wow, what an impressive young man & unbelievable talent. His English is extremely good for this being his 1st year over here. This guy truly is an exceptional talent. Obviously you have all the hype around McDavid, Matthews etc. Pettersson is in their class.. already. He even does some things better than McDavid at this stage (for example he has a much better shot & is just a flat out better Goal scorer). Elias literally does everything on the ice at an elite level. He has All the tools.. he even plays Defense at a high level, which is rly rare for a Rookie that is such a great offensive player. The Canucks are back now with this core built around Elias, Boeser & Horvat, with Q. Hughes & Juolevi on the way to rly take the defense to the next level. There’s Hart’s & Art Ross’s in Elias’ future, as well as the Stanley Cup for Van City.

Elias has basically done the same thing and this is his rookie year. Since his recent injury (a week ago) the 1st two games he missed the Canucks we’re shutout twice in a row. He’s a legitimate Hart candidate. Not saying he’s better than McDavid right now, but he is better than McDavid at a couple things.. and I see him challenging for scoring titles for the next decade.. he’s that kind of talent.

I don’t think we’re ready for the playoffs yet. I’d rather lose for Hughes and in 2 years have Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat, Q Hughes, J Hughes on the roster. Then I’ll be ready for the playoffs :P also wouldn’t mind a Tom Wilson or Ryan Reaves on the team. McQuaid can still kick ass too

This kid is so talented. To bad he plays for Vancouver. But comparing him to Gretzky, he’s a different player and Gretzky was just a different animal. I hope he can put on some weight or he will never see a full NHL season.
