***** after a few times of watching this clip you will not need the subtitles just like me and then it really goes to show how good Ronny's (who plays Lari) acting is no matter what language it is being delivered in. Ikka's reaction is the same and that is true to form. As actors they play the oppressive dad and dutiful son dynamics well...I think one of the most subtle things that got me is when Lari called his father isä (dad/daddy/pa) for a change instead of faija as he normal has referred to him previously. Subtle change but hit home to me.

I agree on the level of acting that you can get emotion across without understanding. I just need to understand some things that are said, lol. I agree Ronny is really getting better. Lari is not a very demonstrative person. He doesn’t show his emotions to the world. I mean, he is such a guy. :) But, Ronny has always shown the ability to demonstrate Lari's emotions strictly through his eyes, especially his sadness, confusion, and pain. And yes at that moment when he said "say it" for the last time, it was almost like... begging "please say it." It was heartbreaking. Also, I love Ronny's demeanor whenever he is talking to Ilka. Lari is ALWAYS tentative. He's afraid of his dad. Maybe not physically, like he doesn't think his dad will hit him or abuse him. But, through his demeanor, the way he can't always look his dad in the face, his quiet voice inflections... Lari has been terrified that if he does or says something that he dad doesn't approve of, he'd lose his love. And it's not just about being gay, it was the same way with hockey. He was afraid if he wasn’t the best hockey player, and the strongest, toughest guy on the team, that he would not be good enough for his dad. He's afraid his dad won't love him if he's just himself. And that is a massive fear to have for someone who has no one else. I love the writing for Lari; but, Ronny is definitely displaying that through his acting abilities. Good job Ronny.

I love Janne and Lari's relationship. Janne is becoming one of my favorite characters. He is a multi-dimensional character. He presents as the clown of the group; but, he is clearly the most direct and honest of them, and actually he's the most intuitive. So, he can cut passed all the drama and all the bulls*** and address the issue head on. And, as has been discussed here before, he is very loyal and protective of his friends. And Lari is so closed off and guarded; and even though he's seems to always be in the drama, he hates the drama, and the emotional upheavel, and the cooonnnnstant discussions. So, Janne really does a good job of bypassing all that and pulling out from Lari the very specific thing that Lari needs to look closest at. I'm really impressed with the way Janne is written, the different tones of his conversations depending on who he's talking to and what the situation. It's very authentic to how people really are. And the actor does a good job too, at bringing a different demeanor to each situation. It's still him, it's still Janne. But, depending on the situation, he portrays that clown, or that shallow teenager; but, then he exudes a very mature disposition when getting to the heart of the matter with Lari. I have liked Janne from beginning of this story. I mean, his instant jealousy when Elias first came to town was immature, but expected. But when Elias first came to the school, and he and Tale were being bullied, Janne is the one, THE ONLY ONE, of the hockey players that stood up to Lari the bully, the TEAM CAPTAIN. That takes guts and a solid self-esteem. And he kept in perspective who his real friends are and didn't get caught up being one of the hockey boys. So, Janne is now definitely at the top of my favorite characters from the entire show. :)

Sometimes I have no idea what people are trying to say. So again. While I totally agree with your comments about Janne, what really got my attention was your writing skills. I really hope other's take note. I know we all make mistakes, I do, thats cool, its all right. But I try to remember to reread before I send anything out. That was always my favorite part about Janne. He was such a popular kid in school, but he would hang with the least desirable. Because he was their friend. And the way he would support Tale and Elias, not just Lari. He was such a dick in the beginning, but my god did he grow into this intelligent, mature, and heartfelt man. I have loved this show for more than just Larius. All the teen characters are splendid. Even Ida had her good parts.

I went into legit cheer mode for Lari this time around. He stood up to Elias, then he stood up to his father. He is finally learning that what is truly important is what he wants for himself, not what everyone else wants from him. I still don't support Elias. No matter how much I loved their relationship, I have lost interest in that particular character. His whining was getting to me. I'd feel perfectly fine if Lari moved on to someone else.

Thanks for posting the latest episode ... I am hooked!!! Sad that Lari's father could not accept him after all this. Not really feeling the connection between Elias and his new boy-toy, so I'm hoping that means that Lari's back in. This story line needs to get back to the Larias theme of love persevering in spite of all the odds ... that would be much more powerful than to the shallowness of how easily a partner can be replaced. Can't wait to see how this plays out!

There are many other great story lines addition to this to follow in "Salatut Elämät". Salatut Elämät is the TV-drama which these clips are taken from. It airs from Mon to Fri here in Finland. When I saw Lari's face at the end of the episode was so sad and i felt so bad, his face was like he knew that he could lose Elias, as I said several times, It seems that Larias won't back together soon. Good for you, Lari. In retrospect, I think Lari's tactic in all this was exactly right. He had to do any and everything he could do so that his father would finally accept that nothing will work to change him. And Lari did everything he could until he couldn't do anything else but ask a simple question. And at that moment, nothing else they try or dicuss will matter. Will you love me... unconditionally? Once you know that your parent would at any point take away their love for you, trying to please them becomes less of a priority. Still, I believe, I hope, Ilka did not mean that. I think it was his last attempt at making Lari give in. I think he will one day come to Lari and say 'I don't like it; but, I'm your father and I love you anyway.' Here's hoping.

The father needs to go to a camp for parents with gay kids and learn how to accept and cope with his son. I hope the writers bring something like this into the story, because it could help a lot of other parents to accept and cope with the fact that they have gay children. Cuz NOTHING will change a truly gay person to be straight any more than anything can change a truly straight person to be gay. That is except for a very small percentage who fall in love with another persons inner-self so strongly that it overpowers any physical restrictions...

GOOD FOR YOU LARI. Stand up to your dad. You have treated him with respect, kindness and deference. One day hopefully he will come around and learn that he has no choice but to love you as your are. In the man time, you get to know and love yourself. There is NOTHING wrong with Lari that some love, support and security couldn't fix. He will grow to be a good, strong, loving man. Whether he is with Elias or not. Elias can't "fix" Lari. Lari has to do this for himself. Then maybe they can be together again as equals who are proud of themselves and each other. Or not. But either way, Lari will be better off for having stood up for himself and for learning that there is nothing wrong with him. His father is wrong. Period.

Hey thanks for all the comment. But actually I do believe Lari will fight for Elias. If you think about the point of this show, well their it. There's really no show, no meaningful point to this program without them together. We have nothing to fear, they'll be back together. I just hope their not put back together fast without Lari truly learning what it means to care and love someone, as Elias has shown to him time after time. I believe its time for Elias to have his cake and to eat it too. He should be able to have his brief fun with Miska, while Lari suffers a little, and see how it feels, the way he's treated Elias. Yeah he has somewhat seen the light. But this time Elias should not just run back into his arms as he always did before. Its time Elias make him prove himself. while standing his ground with Miska. Lets not forget, Lari had Elias waiting on him while he with his girlfriend, and then got another one for his dad's sake, which was more than Elias could take. No! Lari got some work to do. Like I said, its alright. We all know that Elias still love's Lari, We all know that their not over. So we can all relax and let Elias have his time in the sun, which is much deserved. Its just a shame its not nor couldn't be with Lari. Believe me. They'll get there before long. Then Lari will truly want Elias properly and really treat him well. As he deserve's.

Daniel Gustavo Grossman I agree. Just don't panic, we all get there, and when we do, we all be the better for it. I think this is good for Lari. He needs this, he'll win Elias back and kill the selfishness in him. I'm not really sure he has truly understood just how much this kid love's him. I think now he is starting to, and that's why in the end he'll forgive Elias, ever though he'll have to see his man in the arms of another for a while. Lari is a good guy, he knows he put Elias in that position. He understands now, all the broken promises he's made. He know's now, if he's ever gonna have Elias back, he's gonna have to fight for him. I really hope that he doesn't try to bully Miska away, but be a man and get Elias back the right way. Plus, I hope that the writer's make Miska someone who's not easily pushed around, who's not afraid and will fight for Elias as well. I think this is a good thing for all of us. Here's a great story line in the works. We all know, there has to be drama, so here it is. I think Miska is actually falling for Elias, as the writer's should have it. Not only does Lari have to fight for Elias. But Elias find himself actually falling for Miska as well. What we have here from Elias view. For Elias, Miska is what things could be. He clearly see's in Miska all the things he's ever wanted. He see's in Lari, what has been, the hurt and the pain. Its not he doesn't love Lari anymore. Its just he truly wants to be loved, and treated well.

This is why you shouldn't break up with someone or threaten to if you don't actually mean it because one day you will do it and they will take you seriously and you'll be standing at their door wanting them back with some other lover in the background. Every time Lari doesn't like something Elias does, he runs and claims it's over and he doesn't want to see Elias and he's tired of everyone "pressuring" him. Well now Elias is actually trying to take him at his word and leave him alone and here he comes (just like last time except he's not drunk and on crutches sobbing in the hall). I adore Lari, I really do. But what he's been doing to Elias is emotional blackmail. It may not be on purpose but it's very hurtful. I want Lari to get better, believe in himself, grow to love himself as a young gay man and accept the help and support being offered to him by his friends. Elias can't be his everything. Even if they get back together. No one person should be your everything. I hope Elias really gives it a shot with Miska (for better or worse). But I also hope that some day Elias and Lari make it back to each other but on a more even level where they are honest and open and actually TALK to each other instead of just reacting .

I sighed when you mentioned Lari & Elias' talking. That's what almost all characters in all soaps don't do enough of, & the reason is simple-lack of communication leads to a lot more drama. Soaps mostly offer stories of adults & adolescents, all acting like adolescents.

great idea 'talking' in soaps but like most soaps it is driven by two things, the need for drama which is often caused by bad communication and time constraints- Larias story usually last 4 minutes. I try and stay neutral to Elias and Lari but your assessment about Lari always breaking up with Elias, Elias has also broke up with Lari many times too remember part 48,part 86, 121 and for justifiable reasons but Elias does also. Also, it was Elias who threatened in part 153 that if Lari leaves it would be over for good- if someone had thrown such an ultimatum to me after I just told them I have to find myself I would probably have done the same and walked off. They still are in love and the super teen couple of tv but think they have spent more time apart than together in their short life span of being a couple

It's an interesting predicament, because Lari was always treating Elias badly, as he said, and was breaking promises, and Elias did threaten to leave him, and you could see he was unhappy having to hide and put up with the drama. Lari had a lot to deal with also, with his dad and his knee, and his life, and Elias cheated on him (there's never a good reason to cheat I think), so things weren't great. But Elias should've have waited to hear Lari out, and Lari should've expected a bit of trouble, as you can't just snap back after something like that. It's difficult because they're both well acted characters, that have good points and fatal flaws.

I'm sorry, I guess I just don't get I don't mean to appear as if I have no heart nor feelings for Lari, Cause I do. I do care for him, and I do know that his life has been tough. I just don't feel nor think that any of Lari's life problems has anything to do with Elias moving on in his life. It seems as if no one is giving Elias any credit for all the good he's tried to do for Lari. As far as I'm concern, Elias as been, nothing but a force for good to Lari. The whole reason for Elias standing by and holding on to Lari was totally because he clearly understood that Lari came from a difficult family background. Elias was not blind to the reality of how difficult coming out was for him, nor the fact that he didn't have the kind of support group he did. I feel these facts are what made Elias hold out as long as he did. I just think, trying to comparing these two, their up bringing, as a means to justify their actions is not fare to either of them. At some point, Lari's poor up bringing and lack of family support, and how difficult life has been for him growing up can no longer be a justification for his actions. Its like many are willing to give Lari a pass, a get out of jail free card, all because he's had such a difficult life. Well, yes, Lari's dad sucks, but that don't give him the right to treat Elias like shit. When is Lari gonna be held accountable for his own actions? Elias desire to move on is not an of selfishness at all. Lari drove him to that point. We keep judging these situation purely from hindsight. But if we were able see things as though living in the moment from each position. Maybe we wouldn't be so harsh on Elias. Please we really need to give Elias a break, and spot judging him from hindsight and from a spectator's point of view. At the end of the day, the facts are, Lari treated Elias like shit. Elias has now decided to move on. Only Elias know's whats right for him, and no one else. Its Lari's turn to chase after Elias, to undo what he's done. Yep, he's had a hard life, yep his dad was of no support. But none of these things justifies Lari treating Elias so poorly.

Great to see Lari finally standing up to his father who is unable to say he loves him for who he is, so he moves out for good. Lari has a deep and meaningful conversation with the wonderful Janne, goes to see Elias and who should be with him again but Miska. Time for the gay love triangle to play out.

I screamed I actually screamed in frustration when Miska came out. I sooo don't like him, not one bit. Elias is being really stupid rejecting Lari like this. He is gonna realize very soon that Lari is it for him, which I think deep down he already knows. Elias needs to get rid of Miska and stop being mad at lari, rebounds are never good.

I'm so glad what Elias said to Lari, and not jump into he's arms. Hey, you dumped me remember?! Its not that easy anymore. You sent me packing. Elias should stand his ground and let Lari sweat a little bit. Prove himself, show that he's willing to fight for him, like Elias has all this time. The man has broken this kids heart one to many times. And the way he treated him the last time they were together. Lari treated him like shit. Fucked him and sent him packing. Lari knew what he was doing, and it was not right. Fucked him, mad love to him, giving Elias false hope, making him think their back together, all to dump him in the morning. Lari is only 16/17 years and has heavy stuff going on. I know how much pressure it takes to stand up to your parents, I didn't have the guts to do it that age. I think he has sweated enough losing his entire family, dream, career, home and now Elias. L Lily Hey thanks for all the comment. But actually I do believe Lari will fight for Elias. If you think about the point of this show, well their it. There's really no show, no meaningful point to this program without them together. We have nothing to fear, they'll be back together. I just hope their not put back together fast without Lari truly learning what it means to care and love someone, as Elias has shown to him time after time. I believe its time for Elias to have his cake and to eat it too. He should be able to have his brief fun with Miska, while Lari suffers a little, and see how it feels, the way he's treated Elias. Yeah he has somewhat seen the light. But this time Elias should not just run back into his arms as he always did before. Its time Elias make him prove himself. while standing his ground with Miska. Lets not forget, Lari had Elias waiting on him while he with his girlfriend, and then got another one for his dad's sake, which was more than Elias could take. No! Lari got some work to do. Like I said, its alright. We all know that Elias still love's Lari, We all know that their not over. So we can all relax and let Elias have his time in the sun, which is much deserved. Its just a shame its not nor couldn't be with Lari. Believe me. They'll get there before long. Then Lari will truly want Elias properly and really treat him well. As he deserve's.

Heartbreaking!. I am in pain. First I must say Lari (the actor) is a fantastic actor. The guy has improved to a super level!!! Congratulations kid!. As for the situation, although I think Miska a better prospect for Elias' life partner, I can't help feeling for Lari now. But the important thing to me here is these writers' job. They got me totally glued to the story. I admire their skill in creating constant twists. Can't wait for the next! lol

Laris Dad really needs to let his son be true to himself no matter what. To me it shows that his rather selfish and his only desire is what he wants for his son and nothing else and Lari is always trying to be a good son and please his dad. No wonder Elias felt frustrated because he could never have the type of relationship he wanted with Lari. It was good that Lari was able to stand up to his dad asking him that would he still accept him if he was gay took some guts but it also took some time to admit to himself that he loved Elias. Even though now Elias is with Mishka.

Don't panic, we all get there, and when we do, we all be the better for it. I think this is good for Lari. He needs this, he'll win Elias back and kill the selfishness in him. I'm not really sure he has truly understood just how much this kid love's him. I think now he is starting to, and that's why in the end he'll forgive Elias, ever though he'll have to see his man in the arms of another for a while. Lari is a good guy, he knows he put Elias in that position. He understands now, all the broken promises he's made. He know's now, if he's ever gonna have Elias back, he's gonna have to fight for him. I really hope that he doesn't try to bully Miska away, but be a man and get Elias back the right way. Plus, I hope that the writer's make Miska someone who's not easily pushed around, who's not afraid and will fight for Elias as well. I think this is a good thing for all of us. Here's a great story line in the works. We all know, there has to be drama, so here it is. I think Miska is actually falling for Elias, as the writer's should have it. Not only does Lari have to fight for Elias. But Elias find himself actually falling for Miska as well. What we have here from Elias view. For Elias, Miska is what things could be. He clearly see's in Miska all the things he's ever wanted. He see's in Lari, what has been, the hurt and the pain. Its not he doesn't love Lari anymore. Its just he truly wants to be loved, and treated well.

I see your point in wanting two guys fighting for Elias, and let the best one win him over. However I don't expect the plot to go that way. The two characters seem quite different. Elias has been raised in a totally acceptable environment, with lots of people to lean on for support, developing to be a spoiled brat sometimes. Lari, with practically no one to support him, needs someone stable in his life, and it will be difficult to chase after someone so easily jumping in bed with the first guy that comes along.

G Cyloner Lari may not have family but he had a good, strong support network of people to support him. He's not alone. Family can be important but friends can be just as strong and loving and supportive for a lifetime. Lari's best friend Janne has stood by him through all of his crappy behavior and his mistreatment of their other friends and all the emotional turmoil he put Elias through (whom Janne also cares about). If that's not love and support I don't know what is. People should not underestimate the power of friendship. Plus Kalle and Kateriina have be so kind to Lari and would totally support him. He can even work at the gym if he wants. He will be fine. He just has to get settled and make a plan for his life.

G Cyloner Yeah I agree. I'm not actually saying for sure how or which way the plot will go. My point is that this is not a bad thing, a lot of good stuff can come out of this. When I read your comment, I was glad that you understood at least what I was getting at. Who know's where this thing will go or how it will turn out. But there's one thing we all know for certain. There's a show down coming, and somebody is gonna get left behind. Miska is gonna: Rust away like dust, and be blown away with the wind. ( The Lyric's from a U2 Song ) It wont be his fault, he's just in the wrong place, with the wrong guy. I just hope that they have him going down fighting. I really hope that they don't make Miska a mere plot device. But give him some good strong staying power. I'm also hoping that he really falls for Elias, real hard. So that Elias will really struggle between the two. There's a reason that Elias said: Its not that simple. They should follow that through, really build a story around that. When Miska first appeared, I thought, Man this gonna be good. Not just because he's good looking. But that he look's very interesting, he just looks like he could really bring a very good twist to this program, that he's not just a pretty boy. I hope that he really give both Elias and Lari a run for their money. Who know's, he could turn out to be a Psycho. Lari may be the one who save's Elias from this crazy boy. Who know's. Either way, I think that Miska has a lot of potential. I'm for Lari and Elias all the way. who know's Lari just may turn out to be the Hero ! I'm hoping.

***** I don't discount the power of friendship. I mean, historically it's been the circle of friends that became family when blood relatives turned their backs. But, in this instance, when I, and I think others, say Lari is alone it's because he is in transition. He lost his mom, doesn't seem to be close to his uncle, no siblings, fake friends on the hockey team. Janne was a true friend, but Lari didn't know that until Janne found out he's gay. The only person he's had since he was a child was his dad. So, yes these understanding, supportive people have come into his life; but, it takes a lot for someone emotionally guarded like Lari to accept them as familiy. Obviously, I believe he will do that. He's already begun that transition. But, still letting go of your dad... you do that only when he's left you no other choice. Like now.

It's Lari's choice to act on his feelings and own his sexuality. Obviously being gay is not a choice. Lari knows that. But previously Lari made the choice to try to hide it, to lie about it and to feel ashamed. Lari is making the choice to live his life and own his sexuality and not feel ashamed or be bullied by his dad. Being out and living honestly IS a choice.

If you're going with the context of the story, Lari waited far to long to win Elias back, but in reality you cannot rush someone coming out. I know that from personal experience, which is why I love this story line. I wen't through something similar, but the ages were different.
