Very nice! I'm glad you two spend time together. My parents never really spent time with us as adults, and now they are gone. I'm glad the people keep the streets clean, it says a lot about the people living there. Why does your mom miss the old USSR? Easier life? We Americans don't travel to Russia and really understand the difference. I'm glad to see 800k subs. Wow. Happy travels!

My mom also misses the USSR. First, people were confident about their future. Second, there weren't private clinics/schools/kindergartens where people leave a lot of money nowadays, everything was free. Third, travelling around the country was really cheap. My mom visited a lot of different cities, she saw the sea. Now it's way too expensive. Then people didn't have problems with getting jobs after universities, because there was the distribution of specialists around the country after their graduation. Yes, people could be sent far away from home, but they could get a job a a free place of living right after the university. Now it's way too problematic, because mostly all the companies request for experience. And yeah, free apartment that people could receive after years of working at the same place. So, old people miss such things.
