I love my metronome, it's a harsh, harsh reminder of how sloppy I've been playing!

Eli, I've watched many videos on learning the banjo but you are the best instructor for beginners that I have found. You breakdown everything in steps that are easy to follow and understand...thank you..

Thank you so much for this! I’ve been told I need to practice other a metronome but no one ever showed me how. The slides were confusing for me but now I get it. Thanks!

Also, do you have a link to the song you’re playing for the subdivided notes? It’s about 6:15 on this video? Sounds like a great practice song.

Your presentation was very helpful for players of different 0:02 abilities. Starting from the simplest pattern to significantly advanced speeds, can allow to folks to move at their own rates and goals. Thank you. 🙏

I've been trying to do this on guitar... It's a lot harder than you'd think.

Learning banjo, the metronome crushes my will to live.

The metronome does not suppress the "will to live"! The metronome destroys your illusions! Greetings from Russia, everyone in our country knows about breaking illusions 🤓

Hey Eli, could you make a video on proper left hand placement? I use an open back banjo with no strap yet. I’ve got one on the way. I’ve been struggling if my left hand has been correct. Thanks and love your videos!

Great video as usual. I was wondering if you could do a few Eddie Adcock tunes, especially his “Nine Pound Hammer” break with that Merle Travis? banjo style. Thanks if you do .

Hey Eli! Any comments on practicing with metronome vs practicing to an electronic beat? (drum machine, midi track, keyboard rythm section etc). With a drumbeat loop I feel a stronger sense of 'groove', or that I'm doing music, even if it's still repetitive and mechanical. Would you advice against using those rythm tracks?

Thanks Eli! What is the song you play at 144 bpm toward the end of the video?

Standard 5/8 snuffy smith banjo bridge or snuffy smith pegged or compensated what the best 1976 ibanez artist Flat 5/8 I'm new player
@EliGilbertBanjo8 ай бұрын
Standard 5/8 snuffy should be fine, I haven't tried the others but every bridge sounds different on every banjo so you'd have to try them to really know!
