There have been many people of faith that have experienced discouragement, distress, and depression. Yet sometimes Christians feel guilty for feeling the same way. Consider Elijah: in 1 Kings 18 he is reveling in a great spiritual victory, but in the next chapter 1 Kings 19 he is running scared, along, and asking to die. Why?

I have a prophetic calling. God has designated me to be separate unto Him from marriage and relationships with women and He has impressed on me that He is to be my portion. It’s a lonely calling. Most of the church doesn’t even believe that it still exists, that the prophetic spirit and nature in a man has passed. I assure you it hasn’t. I’ve been in my “cave” over the past week, tired, empty, done, cursing the day I was born, cursing this path He has laid out for me. Why me? But this sermon has helped me start to come out of it. I’m honored that He designated me with this spiritual gift, as I I believe there is a great need for not only prophets to step up today, but TRUE prophets who don’t speak in their own minds. Thank you for this. You are a great pastor. This helped me tremendously.
