I thought cyano was green slime bacteria. What you are showing coralline algae right?

Hello. This is Cyano. Cyano can be red or green. Coralline wouldn’t grow so quick or just pop back up after removing.

In 1970's.. Had a ten gallon with small snowflake eel. Never did water changes, undergravel filter days.. No corals, just the red cyano.. Must have eaten phosphates. For two years.. Looked cool to me. Gave away eel, when I moved. Then it died. 😴

I do not recommend cleaning cyano with bare hands! Always wear gloves, I contracted a bacterial infection in my finger nail from cleaning cyano with my bare hands!
