Putting with a hyzer is the hardest thing to get rid of.
But.., You need to get your disc flat to hit more chains.

Aloha Aklevin, Ya get your fingers in on the putt. You will notice a big difference on your speed and accuracy. If you notice that the putt is hitting the left side of basket all the time . Just make sure you get your fingers pointing straight . Sometimes I notice I don't quite get fingers straight and I will hit left side of chains. Aloha Michael

I also putt this way you are teaching. So when the disc slows down & starts to fade, it goes towards the basket. The key is power, distance & wind. I'd also like to add that I always make sure the disc sits in the "pocket" between the thumb & index finger. It gives it more "pop" because the "webbing" of that area pushes the disc out in unison with your fingers. Thx & aloha! 🙋‍♂️

Thanks Michael. I don't see a lot of helpful info on the Web about this problem, but this lesson really helped me. I have had the hyzer putt problem since I started about a year and a half ago. This winter I started to try to correct it, and this video really helped. Not quite flat yet, but making more progress thanks to this encouraging video.

When i push with my fingers the putt comes out slow and never has the power to get there. I really need to pop the disc almost like a drive is pulled though and snaps out.

Aloha Johnny, On getting more power on the putt. You still use your wrist with you fingers. You just need to do it with a flat hand. Not by using back of hand . I have putting video called "What the arm is doing putting" watch that. Flat hand is only why to get putt flat. Aloha Michael

The thumb could be the only culprit honestly. I'm a spin putter who resorts to the hyzer putt on longer putts, and normally that's when I try to give it more mustard and pop my thumb to 12.

I'd love to see a video of what your putt looks like with the camera behind the basket so we see the disc go straight into the basket. I'd like to see the angle your disc comes into and hit the basket. I push putt and although my accuracy is good, I definitely have hyzer putts.

Aloha Someone, I have other videos on putting I think they show the angle in some of those. But I really try to get the disc flat. Let the disc fly its natural flight. I like to bring the disc up my left leg. Seems to help get it flat better. Also try to get your thumb to point at 1 o'clock on the release. That will keep palm up and then push with fingers to throw disc. I have 7 newer videos on putting on the channel check them out .see what you think. Thanks for writing. Aloha Michael

Aloha David, So the grip of the putter not loose or overly tight, nutrial pressure with thumb and pointer finger. Then middle fingers faned out under the disc. Those fingers help hold disc out flat. Power of the putt is from speed of arm coming forward and wrist and fingers firing at basket. Hand ends up in a open position. So as your hand comes up to release putter you need you thumb to roll to 1 o'clock or 2 o'clock this will bring outside edge of disc up. I always think about thumb getting over and fingers firing at basket. I have a newer video called "putting its all in the wrist". Watch and see if something clicks. Let me know if have questions. We can talk threw everything. It took me a while to get use to putting this why but you can get there. Aloha Michael

Aloha Stormfishingfordisc, Most beginners putt a hyzer to the basket. I use to and it's not very accurate from 20, 30, 40 feet out. The disc comes out of your hands on a hyzer. You want the disc to fly its natural flight pattern. The disc needs to fly flat then turn onto a hyzer. This why you have more chance of hitting the longer putts. Are you sure Ganon and Isaac are not putting flat to a hyzer. Paul, Ricky, Simon, Calvin, Eagle they all putt the nature flight of the disc, flat to hyzer. It really helped my putting once I learned to release the disc flat. Aloha Michael

Aloha juandiamond, Greg Barsby. I watched a putting tutorial from GB. He said his style is more of a loft style of putt. He doesn't consider himself a power putter. He putts flat but because he putts a lofting putt it falls over heavy hyzer. He is not trying to putt hyzer just slow speed of putt. He did say that when it is windy he needs to putt harder . So sounds like the wind messes with his putt. When he was putting in video his long 30 foot putts stayed flat then disc rolled over onto its natural flight pattern. Aloha Michael

@@MikeJDiscGolf Aloha Mike Janish, I think people are confused on what a hyzer putt is. Paul putts flat , but when you are far from basket 40 feet the disc is going to have its natural flight paternal. It will glide on a soft left fad. A hyzer putt is the guy that putts the disc on edge (hyze ) for intire flight of the disc. Like me when I learned, my disc always was on a hyzer from the release of the disc disc. It took me a while before I realized they (pros) are Manipulating the disc. I hope I was able to explain. Going to make more videos on the topic. Aloha Michael
