To be honest, I"m disappointed Cut allowed the Stephen / Ashley date to continue after he literally came at her and tried kissing her. That was a straight up violation and this kind of behavior should not be tolerated on Cut. They had an opportunity to set an example and didn't take it... although this is a silly reality show that pushes extremes, safety and respect of the contestants should still be the top priority. It doesn't matter that they met before, she clearly was not comfortable with him kissing her and did not consent to that happening. Ashley deserved much better from the Cut producers.

I can't answer that question, but my observation of her throughout the interaction and in the way she left has me leaning towards she was definitely not okay. Even if she was, what he did was 100% wrong and a physical violation. Would have loved to see Cut intervene and not leave it up to the victim to decide what to do on camera.

A lot of people commented on this. Jessica's narcissistic behaviors and Stephen's consent-violating behaviors are so different, with latter being much worse. Doesn't matter which gender. To that point, I've met people like Jessica who are straight, cis gender male a thousand times over. Narcissistic traits are common unfortunately, but to the degree presented here, not harmful, well maybe to Jessica since these behaviors may isolate her from others. The problematic behaviors Stephen presented on the other hand, omg. That's dangerous. Whatever intentions he had, just no, dude. I just hope that he doesn't escalate. Doesn't serve him, and certainly not the people his behaviors victimize. Honestly, I kinda knew this was bound to happen. I didn't know it would be so unhinged, but still. But I've always thought it was funny how people want to make The Button into this perfect and wholesome dating show with these suggestions and ideas, when it's absolutely not what the show is about. I've always seen it as less of a dating show and more of a social experiment. It's always gonna have selfishness and awkwardness and someone trying to "cheat" the system (like the blindfold episode) and all that, and that's how it works. It's too idealistic thinking they can get rid of that. In fact, that's exactly hat brings that "trainweck factor" that make us unable to stop watching, no matter how awkward it gets. That's why I had to laugh at people's disappointment in the previous episodes' comments when Cut tried the different approaches suggested and another batch of problems popped up. The format for this particular video also has its flaws, but that's part of what's fun about it. I'm really glad that Cut listens to the viewers and spices things up and I absolutely love the different approaches, but I wish viewers saw these new ideas not as "fixing the show" but as "making it more entertaining and interesting by shaking things up a little". That's what it's about, after all, entertainment and analysing human behavior
