I can imagine the Supra in red with that carbon fiber spoiler and vents...must rock! Because of the high contrast....
@NEMotoGuy4 жыл бұрын
Definitely in red/white and even the A91 blue the contrast of the carbon fiber/dark colors look amazing.

Thank you for doing this car right. Toyota should have covered up the fake vents from the factory LMAO

Haha thank you! Agreed, loving the way these carbon garnishes came out 👌🏼

I got my Supra, but I heard the vents are in fact real, just that they covered them up for tuning companies to fix. Is that true?

As much as I love the carbon fiber, personally I would hate letting go off the all black look of the car. Congrats on this project and thank you for making this video available.

Man, this was a refreshing vid so thanks. News is that am actually waiting to come off the ship in 2 week my brand new A91 Refraction Blue limited, and this is going to be a mod that will happen right off the get! You got my sub. Bro, you now need a wing! :) Fig
@NEMotoGuy4 жыл бұрын
Awesome, congrats!! Thank you for the love and support! I am working on a wing replacement dont worry. The carbon kit I have ordered is having some delays due to global Covid. Hopefully soon we will have a video on those upgrade!

Looks good, a little surprised there’s a bunch of DIY stuff to mount but hell it’s aftermarket
@NEMotoGuy4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Agreed, I was a little surprised at first as well, but then again it is carbon and aftermarket. Luckily it really wasn’t bad cutting/adjusting.

Maybe I’ll get a Supra now lol The fake vents really held me back 😂
@NEMotoGuy Жыл бұрын
Yea I hear you lol. These definitely helped with the look and removed heavy vents with no function.

do you know the part number for the torx screw used to secure the side garnish? It fell in the hole when I was putting in the new one lol
@NEMotoGuy4 жыл бұрын
Ahh sorry to hear that. I am not sure the exact part number. I have been trying to search for that all morning for you. Toyota is a bit difficult with finding parts for this Supra. Do you have one of the other screws available? I would say either take one down to a nearby dealer and ask, or find a similar bolt from home depot and just use that to secure it in.
@georges.21574 жыл бұрын
@@NEMotoGuy Yeah actually let me see if I can take one to the dealer and see if they can look it up. Thanks for all your help!

is this a vent or panel?
@NEMotoGuy2 жыл бұрын
It's more so just a panel with proper aero. Nothing vents thru the panel itself.

Hey new sub here. Been looking at the new supra for a while and this is just the push i need. How much were the carbon pieces? I went to the website and it said 800.00 but wasnt sure if its 800 per or for the pair.
@NEMotoGuy4 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you for the support! Yes, it is $800 for the pair. I do not believe that covers shipping costs though.
@khodges22 жыл бұрын
So wait you took a part that was latched on with hardware for something that is glued on with tape? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@NEMotoGuy2 жыл бұрын
Its latched on with hardware and glue/tape, just like the OEM piece. This part is significantly lighter and more aerodynamic than the OEM piece as well.
@benhager25594 жыл бұрын
Why would you eliminate fake vents lol, I mean go to pep boys, and get even more fake vents, pick up some vtech stickers too, then its almost as awsome as the fact it's got a b58 in it lol. I mean if you get rid of the fake vents why stop there, put a 2jz in it while you're at it xD ( I mean this in good fun lol,, nice car / b58 coughs

They are just closed vents, they can be opened so they work 🤦♂️
@NEMotoGuy3 жыл бұрын
That is incorrect. These door “fake” vents cannot be opened up. When you open the door you see that even IF the vents opened up, that air would go no where. Right behind the fake vent inserts is the actual door frame/chassis. So the fake inserts are purely aesthetic. By replacing with these carbon aero piece, I actually seal up those unusable vents and actually gain some slight aero advantage. Mostly cosmetic though. Cheers!
@EricV2062 жыл бұрын
Toyota lied about that apparently. Someone made a youtube video proving that even if you opened up the fake vents it would either lead to nothing or have minimal additional airflow after you cut up the hood/fender/door/quarter panel to even make it work so it wouldn't be worth the effort
@rocketots2 жыл бұрын
@@EricV206 Toyota literally did it with their heritage edition.
@EricV2062 жыл бұрын
@@rocketots guys in supra forums were talking about it too and they said yeah they are now functional to a certain degree but we’re not sure how much the Supra will benefit from it. Slotted fenders that Toyota explained will definitely be good but the door vent to the quarter panel still needs extensive work to be really beneficial . A lot of people were saying they opened all the fake vents but just like my previous comment , it looks like it’s gonna provide minimal gains from doing it . Unless we get to see proof of how much better their Supra is with the vents uncovered
@rocketots2 жыл бұрын
@@EricV206 Honestly the best thing to do would change the door garnish to eliminate the fake vent to an aero panel, open up front vent for brake ducts, rear vent for air buildup extraction , and hood vents to extract heat
