Wow! What a high octane match... Elina played at an elite level and almost won! Truly would've been happy for her, given her recent hard work and resurgence, along with others from here generation like Danielle and Vika! Aryna fought through pain and adverse scoreline and came through... truly the heart. of a champion that. she is! 🙂

Svitolina still not shaking hands with Russian/Belarusian players like girl grow up this is tennis not war

They think clown Zelensky will win the war if they don't shake hands with the Russian/Belarussian players.

I can't stand any player, Ukrainian or not, who refuses to shake hands with their opponent because of their political views. Saby has knocked out two in this tournament, yes!

you grow up … war is more important than tennis niceties

They have probably been ordered not to shake hands. I saw in Svitolina's look, she wanted, but didn't, and Arina understood

GREAT match. The Final cut makes a thousand words.2 ladies , now in in enemy countries, respecting each other, having the repressed reflex to lend a hand, or a minimal final physical contact; but politics poisons everything; Sabalenka could not fully enjoy, Svitolina could not show a fully dignified and glorious 'defeat"; Sabalenka could not console her, as between 2 sportswomen in normal times ;the eyes of both and the body language in these seconds showed many REPRESSED feelings;it was the opposite of final release; bad times, which dirty the sport!

From where to where, Sabalenka was almost on the edge of losing the clash against Svitolina but the inextricable mistakes of Svitolina have prompted a rigid debacle within this process. No mercy from the professional Belarusian tennis competitor. This time, I appreciate the approach of Svitolina with her facial expression to Aryna Sabalenka. That's what I want to see from herself to Belarusian players instead of Russians.
