I also have the 70cm elinchrom but I get different results. I don't see much BD effect on the pictures, but the BD is the light modifier which is mostly prone to fail when setting up. it is nearly impossible to do it with dim modelling lights and or bright ambient light. you only get the effect right, when you see the "dark shadow" produced by the deflector and center it to the face. only then you get the beautiful Hollywood light. the problem, this position is super small even with the big 70cm bowl. even when your model moves slightly you end with a 70cm softbox. BD are super static to shoot... but so wonderful if you get it right. ... and the elin is one of the best.

Surprised that the 27" silver BD creates far less of a hard shadow under the nose than the white version. And what is the deflector made of, it's glowing in the catchlights.

They all look almost identical to me, with the exception of the softbox, where the fact the model turned slightly made much more difference than changing the light modifiers. Maybe I'm blind 🙈
