Even though it turns out I installed more parts than needed LOL I still made progress and managed to install the new floor in. And surprisingly everything clicked in place. I also got a call from the Triumph Gods and a mail from Rusty Beauties :)

You are doing a great job, no need to put yourself down over "strengthener-peice-gate"!! It is well fitted and properly rust protected and will add strength, really impressed with the way you sorted the "sag in the middle" historic alignment issues. Brilliant channel, thougo was disappointed that the GUY was put on hold after I had watched all the hard work being done! Great engineering, humour and a little self deprication for good measure. Thankyou!!

We should all learn not to be too proud for you, great humility on your part.showing mistakes very important. I made a mistake 23 years ago on my tr4a 1966 . Just started to try again.cut out floor and sill to understand where I went wrong.now I understand. Thank you so much for your effort in providing these great shows. Peace

I am very convinced of your work. Why not make a small improvement? The stiffening plate is also common in other convertibles. It can also be found in my MX5. There it has a thickness of 1.3mm (wow). I am sure that you also build one on the driver's side. ;-) It's really good to see how the car gets well again :-) Good work Elin !!!

I am currently restoring a Fiat 850 Spider convertible and there is a strengthener piece between the outer and inner rocker. The Brits and the Italians must think alike on this one.

Man you are the best the strenghtener piece is definitely the way to go the factory didn’t do it probably to save money since you have the skill and the ability to make it better than original is the way to do it. The door gaps will never sag again your attention to detail is awesome .I get up every morning waiting for a new vid thanks so much.

The advantage of the Triumph is that you have a frame. In the MGB, There is no frame so the sill assembly is the structural beam of the car, and the stiffener plate is vital. Anyway, you have ended up with a much stronger body!!

My TR6 has strenghner plates. It was made; November 1973, making it a 1974 just like your Triumph. Definitely a needed structure. Thanks for sharing this great restoration with us Dr .

Put a motor on your bead roller, i did mine it made life so simple, i used 24vDc motor from a medical hoist, the speed/reverse controller from a mobility scooter, u could just get thease parts from ebay. i just used what i had lying around. Good work by the way, very inpressed.

No, I'm not gonna comment on your attempts at humour... Still, I find myself fast-forwarding through your videos recently. I can see the '74 is a gawdawful mess but I would enjoy more doing than talking. Still not smoking? Thanks for doing these videos, and I hope you don't get discouraged with the enormity of the task to restore this body.

Elin, you need to maintain torsional symmetry, so whatever you do on the Starboard side you should repeat on the Port. i.e, fit the same extra strengthener piece on the driver's side. Ben

That strengthener piece part is my favourite! Sadly I can only give one like! I am sure that having extra piece of metal on this car won't hurt and in hindsight that was probably right decision anyway, even if it wasn't there originally.

Every time I jack up the drivers side of my TR, the door slightly jams. I wish I had a strengthener plate.
