@@yogi19581I was 14 then, and had my lovely high school sweetheart Chris. And believe it or not, we are still friends after he tracked me down on facebook decades after we had last seen each other. He claims I broke his heart but he bounced back very quickly and has a lovely wife and has been married for over 40yrs. He is still a sweetheart, very happily married and a grandfather now. Oh and his wife knows that we speak sometimes and is fine about it, I made sure of that we he reached out. Our chats are always appropriate and we have never met up, even if he was coming to my country town as I didn’t think it was the proper thing to do, and also he never asked to. Just a good decent guy who likes to reminisce with me about high school, and the fact that he was terrified of my dad 😂. Yes Mr Glenn, I will take good care of her at the pictures or wherever we were going, No she will be home exactly on time Mr Glenn, I would never keep her out late No, there will not be any alcohol at the party Sir. It was hysterical and so sweet. Lovely memories.

Back in the time of this classic black people were loved and respected because of these kind of singing groups. Nowadays the "n" thugs sing about screwing, robbing, killing, etc. It is so horrible that black groups have made a ton of money by glorifying sex, drugs, disrespectful behavior and breaking laws. They have shamed what the black groups in the 60's, 70's and 80's fought for. 😢

I remember this band as a small child. I would go to sleep with the radio on in the seventies and listen to this great music. At 55 I still love it. I was probably around 7 or 8 then. It takes me back.

God bless you Irene. Married 57 years on April 30-'23 & you still make me feel brand new. Your beating cancer make the lyrics even more meaningful. I love you-- XO

Great was the day when it was all live. No mouthing the words to their best recording of the song. Just pure talent. :) Thanks for posting.
