Oh and his wife knows that we speak sometimes and is fine about it, I made sure of that we he reached out. Our chats are always appropriate and we have never met up, even if he was coming to my country town as I didn’t think it was the proper thing to do, and also he never asked to. Just a good decent guy who likes to reminisce with me about high school, and the fact that he was terrified of my dad 😂. Back in the time of this classic black people were loved and respected because of these kind of singing groups. Nowadays the "n" thugs sing about screwing, robbing, killing, etc. It is so horrible that black groups have made a ton of money by glorifying sex, drugs, disrespectful behavior and breaking laws. They have shamed what the black groups in the 60's, 70's and 80's fought for. 😢

So how did it go from this..... a multiplicity of great and talented well dressed and dignified black musical acts that people of all races would be forced to admire .... to black guys and gals on stage with pants hanging off their asses? WTF? As a black youngster growing up in the 1970s groups like the Stylistics, Manhattan s, Chi-Lites, Spinners, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and numerous others made you so proud to be black. And don't talk about the beautiful elegant female black singers with their classy gowns like Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight, Patty La Belle, Roberta Flack, Diana Ross, Natalie Cole, Three Degrees, Emotions, Pointer Sisters. 🙏🎀

80s baby here. I think this was before my time but oh my goodness I LOVE IT. The hairstyles, the suits, thier voices, the musicians, EVERYTHING. This is one of those songs I listen to at least 5-10 times whenever i think about it. I want to slow dance with an older woman to this song before the year is over🤔😁

I remember this band as a small child. I would go to sleep with the radio on in the seventies and listen to this great music. At 55 I still love it. I was probably around 7 or 8 then. It takes me back.

There was a time in the 1970's when my Uncle, who was only 5 years older than me always had KFRC and soul playing. The Stylistics take me back to those warm Summer nights looking at the street lights of the city. Oh, to return to those times.

Doug, I just saw your post in August of 2021, it hit me right in the heart. I could have written that exact sentiment. I also had an uncle who was only five years older than I. Thank you for reminding me of those great times in the bay area, KFRC, KDIA, KSOL etc... we were lucky to grow up when we did. Cruising, going to the drive in, with all that amazing music in the background.

Awesome performance. Old school. The new music doesn't hold a candle to this kind of music. This sounds just like the recording, but better with the falsetto ending. Great job!

best music and best group ever...and for anyone who thinks falsetto is annoying, then this music is not for you...falsetto style is what give deep feeling to the words and the music...
