Most of the drummers I know (were they to make a video) would in fact benefit significantly from the headless drummer look. Elise is a significant outlier in this respect.

Great with, very inspirational. Question: At 1:17 you mention that you usually like to keep it simple mic wise. Just curious why. You have several microphones and it seems like you would always benefit by at least adding an overhead (I feel that in this video your toms and snare were not matched sonically). Whachutink ? Thanks again, Steve 😊❤️🎶 🥁

Awesome vid, I can use those tips! Quick question, how is your hi hat that crisp? Mine is duller. Are you EQing it at all? Also, do you use an analog system or a purely digital one? I'm assuming digital, connected to a computer but I still feel the need to ask.

Yes I do have a question... I don't have social media except for KZbin. But when editing a video how can I make it so that you can see a video of my feet playing at the same time in the background I have a video of me playing? Do you know if not that's okay, if there is someone out there talented with video editing please let me know. I do not run Windows I run Linux, and I use an editor called openshot. Thank you for reading all of this.
@PLFORTE17 жыл бұрын
I've been trying to motivate myself to start doing drum videos for KZbin and you're stuff is really inspiring me right now. My goal is to have well received channel focusing on instructional drumming videos but I have a stuttering problem and it would take me a lot of reshooting and editing to get everything correct - I already tried doing a headphone review and it was a nightmare to get through. Do you think it would be a good strategy to at first just make a bunch of my best drum solo videos and then ease into the instructional stuff, or do you think the instructional stuff is what's going to get more views?

@HugoStiglitz887 жыл бұрын
I like how you have your rack toms on a tom stand instead of mounted to the bass drum like a lot of cheaper kits do. I do the same even though my kit was one of those with the bass drum mount. Bass drums sound so much better that way.

Elise Trouw Who taught you/what resources did you first begin playing with? 🥇 I admire the hard work you must've put in to learning
@mitchtube37 жыл бұрын
The 48 kHz sample rate thing isn't correct. Sample rate has nothing to do with timing. As long as your editing software is expecting the same sample rate as your audio file, it will be fine. Elise has probably encountered a situation where she has mismatched the sample rate of an audio file with the project. If the file was not converted to match the project during importing, it would have slowed down or sped up depending on the type of mismatch.
@mbvglider6 жыл бұрын
You're right, but some online codecs noticeably do worse than others at this. KZbin does absolutely fine with 44.1 KHz an other sample rates, but Instagram acts up a bit. 48 KHz is usually safest.

So hey Elise,...I finally have all my analog gear hooked up 16 channel mixer etc...mix is both in headphones and in the pa system. Question being will that Presonus help me in any way ? At this time to record I use my telephone. I think though at this point my room is kicking pretty good. I am considering using the zoom q 3 hd as playback it has noise filters. I guess you might say I have what I need in my head mix or even without headphones . I would just like clean precise recording playback as well as mastering abilities. You think I should go with another mixer to bring in live musicians I probably need more vocal mics etc. or try to figure out that presonus.

Lots of great tips. I have only a almost 6 year old Zoom Q3!- I place it off my floor tom because it sounds best.(It cuts me out but really who wants to see a 57 year old guy?LOL)It is not HD and require's alot of light. WAY too many youtube video's have close mic'ing and the result is terrible.DONT add bass to tom's! (Proximity effect add's bass already) The tom's should not be bassier (just made that word up lol) than your kick.Drum's do not sound like that.If your kit is tuned good, it should sound good with 1 or 2 mic's.Also, have you noticed people who close mic, you can never hear the hi-hat & cymbals enough.Rock on!

48? I mean, 44's standard for a wav file. Would that still make my audio off from the video? I never really noticed, to be honest.
@CraigGood3 жыл бұрын
44.1 is the old standard for CDs. Video production is almost always done at 48. Depending on your DAW or editing software a sample rate mismatch may give strange results, like sped up, slowed down, or incorrectly pitched audio.
