I'm so thrilled to see that you're driving a Tesla. I've often wondered what you drove, due to the long trips you take. I've been driving a Model 3 since the end of June 2022. I'm hoping to upgrade to a Model Y by the end of March 2024. I need that hatchback, and more ground clearance for a snow covered driveway. I drove nothing other than manual transmission cars for more than 45 years, and the transition to electric was seamless. Enjoy the drive.

I agree, Autopilot is a blessing in stop and go traffic. My wife complains that it makes her sick because Autopilot sometimes accelerates a bit hard and then brakes hard.

I’ve noticed that too. Using FSD, I switched it to chill mode and it made a good difference. With autopilot, I bump up the distance to max and that helps a bit too with jerkiness

I heard Elon say that when charging, 0% to 80% charging is equivalent to charging 80% to 100%. If it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge it from 0% to 80%, it will take 30 minutes to charge 80% to 100%.

That’s right. I’d never wait to charge beyond 80% on the road, but use it as convenient extra time if we were preoccupied doing something when it hit 80%. Like with eating lunch in this case

We are getting us a CyberTruck soon. One thing my Wife is worried about with a Tesla is the accident avoidance tech the Teslas have on them, and the AI just randomly deciding to break etc. She's already said, she'll never use the auto-drive feature, me though, I think I'll give it a try just to see how it works, I mean, I paid for it, why not use it. Maybe after the Wife sees me use it a time or two, she'll warm up to it. Humans fear what they don't understand, and this is still a fairly new technology, so it's going to take time to work out all the bugs and for people to feel comfortable using it. But I will be cautious for sure.

Def be cautious cause it’s not perfect haha, but I can confidently say I trust FSD way more than I do the other cars around me while driving. It can be buggy and make some dumb decisions, but knowing it’s seeing everything (relatively) on the road vs me seeing only one direction at a time is nice reassurance
