Totally agree with you regarding the song choice. It was AGT who picked that song for Marcelito and he just performed it in the best way possible. He preferred to sing another song but he wasn’t allowed due to copyright issue.

There were "50 super fans" who voted that we never knew and the voting wasn't open for us, American public. Everyone thinks he should've won or at least got the 2nd place. But he's still the people's champion. He got the most AGT views. I don't think Simon knows how hard it is to switch/transition voices flawlessly. It is a God given talent! It didn't make sense that he wants him to take a bigger risk, less predictable? What like sing, dance and do tricks? MP can sing anything but dual voices is his forte. He doesn't even speak good English (reason why the wife was there as a translator). He only finished 3rd Gr Elem. and NEVER HAD any VOCAL TRAINING but he can sing in diff languages. He grew up on the streets and only speaks Filipino and his native tongue. Anyways, he had become my happy pill. God bless his humble heart. What he makes from his YT channel, he use for his charitable works. So please help promote his channel. _"Let me know what you think of the judges comments"_ *IT IS ALL A BIG LIE and lots of manipulation* it already starts when Heidi says at 6:07 "this never gets old", implying that it is the same as always and nothing new/surprising/special, preparing for Simons comment later, and then she directly lies at 6:26 "you always pick songs" because it is the producers who select the songs, and Simon is an executive producer! The next judges words were well prepared, starting "on the first song, it was a surprise", and also implying it was Marcelitos choice "you always are doing the right choices". the third judge also spoke of "the song choice was perfect" with no hint that it was not Marcelitos choice. and finally Simon speaks about his surprisingly bad choice of a song, while HE is a producer and THEY selected the song. also look closely at the scene at 9:43 ("massive career") : at the left edge of the video you can see Heidis naked arm, and exactly THAT scene was already shown in the semifinals where she wore a robe with green sleeves. they simply have copied and pasted that scene from the finals to the semifinals (which both were preproduced months earlier). viewers were still asked to wish the contestants good luck etc, to make the show more interesting than it would have been if they had told that the final results already were known when they aired the first episode of that contest. i would like to know what Simon really said in the semifinals and what was replaced by this scene !? in general, where in the world (in real life, such shows, beauty pageants, or in court, etc) are judges allowed to decide on the outcome, if they have massive interests of their own in the outcome. in most of these places, they (hopefully) would be rejected as judge because of their "conflict of interests". of course, this is america (USA) and different rules apply, for Simon as well as even for selecting judges at the highest court. Elishia already said herself that the singers often (and for sure in this case) don't have a free choice of songs. and in addition all of AGT was heavily shortened, cut, resorted, etc (like the "golden buzzer" cheat in the first episode). similar and other manipulations are also done in many other shows, like in the "world champions" with Rude Paul, where they lied to Dimash about having no contest with children, and then accusing HIM of being unprofessional and ungrateful when he leaves the contest after he finds out that he is setup to sing against a girls from his own country. Imho, and as far as possible, people should try to avoid watching and reacting to this kind of shows. too bad that some songs are hard or impossible to find anyplace else.
