Hi there. I am benefiting a lot from your channel. I need a practice tip on the below. How to say these sentences without much struggle and how to connect the 'S' sounds between words and how to glide from an 'S' sound to an 'SH' sound between two words. 1. He is so shy 2. She was shy
@EnglishwithMarci
@EnglishwithMarci 8 ай бұрын
I'm so glad that you like the channel! It would be a bit tricky to fully explain how to do this through a comment, but here is one tip you can try. Try holding out the 'S' sound for a couple of seconds and then see if you can switch to a 'SH' sound. For example, in the sentence "It's short," hold out the 'S' sound of "It's" for a couple of seconds and then switch to the 'SH' sound in "short." Do this really slowly at first and then after it feels more comfortable, you can gradually do it faster. Hope that helps!

Besides, I can eliminate H from Her, and Him, could I eliminate H from He. For example: Then HE went out for a walk. Could I hear without its letter H?: ThenE went out for a walk. By the way: I was wondering whether would you mind talk about that fact native speakers don't say all the souds in a word, and how they do that! Thank you very much!!🥰🥰

Is their any specific rule for eliminating the letter ' H ' from ' Her ' and ' Him ' ? I mean, what time should I eliminate the letter ' H ' ? Is their any specific rule for eliminating ' Th ' from ' Them ' as like the mentioned an en example above ?

Hi Tamim, That is a great question. In fast speech, the H in him/her and the TH in them is nearly always dropped. Really, the only time the sounds would be pronounced is if the speaker is speaking more slowly and formally. Or if the speaker stressed that particular word for emphasis. For example: Give it to HER now. Hope that helps!

@@EnglishwithMarci Sure it does! Thanks a lot .Since you ve got some spare time and will to answer me I dare to ask you one more question (sorry). I mean sometimes I face the usage of PV in active construcnions like "you ve been gone " instead of "you have gone" or I m done. What is it? What do you call it? Thanks in advance.

Reductions or collocations. I've just seen that where'd is where did. The pronounce is Very hard to listen qnd learn. I don't find lessons like this

Hi Humberto! You are right. "Where did" can become "where'd" in fast conversation. For example: "Where did he go?" can sound like "Where'd he go?" Very good observation! Maybe I will make more videos about reductions in the future. I will also think about collocations. Thanks for the suggestion!
