How can a small country like Denmark with just about 6 million citizens compete in Badminton with all the Asian Powerhouses like China, Indonesia, Japan or Malaysia?
I had the pleasure to visit the Academy of former World No. 1 and All England Champion Peter Gade and follow the practice sessions.
I also got a lot of insights about the club life in Denmark and I decided to make a second part just about that
About the Academy:
Peter founded the Academy in 2018 and it is based in the Kopenhagen Area. Players with a high level (Elite Junior or Senior Level) can apply for a taking part in the training.
Besides that Peter also started an online Academy for everybody, you can find all the details here: petergade.com/

Incredible job. Very nice filmed, edited and explained. I have done quite a lot of videos from that hall. Would love you to give you a tour in Kolding badminton club or a special tour on my work, where we combine school and badminton at a lower age (14-17) with 5 practises each week. Looking forward for the next vlog - keep the quality up. Lovely to watch 🤩

So fun seeing your own club in the video - (KBK) and happy that you had a good time here. Looking forward to the next vlog! Were there any exercise from the academy you think is suitable for intermediate players?

I think many of the exercises can be adjusted to lower level as well, the WS exercise for example is not difficult and also works on an intermediate level for sure!

As a young danish player, I wish my badminton club looked like this! Mine is awesome too, but it definitely isnt as big or ambitious as this one. I hope I get a training that looks at least a little bit like these ones when I'm older and on a higher level :)

The only secret is Denmark is not involved in foolish sports tennis like most of the European countries do. Badminton is faster, less time , more enjoyable and fun to watch

Thank you for yet another informative video. I have always been curious about how PG's academy is set up. But don't you think the Gentofte training hall's ceiling is a little bit low? I wonder if that has any negative effect on the players, cause I personally don't like playing in halls with low ceiling.

Thank you for your feedback 😊 for me the ceiling there was no problem, I think you can hit it but I didn't see it happening this week

What a great setup they have in denmark. Is there anyway that you are allowed to release the multifeed programmes? Would be great to see which excercises are being done.

Thank you Tobias for sharing this unique experience. In your opinion, how much training one should prepare in footwork vs technique?
@tobiaswadenka8435
@tobiaswadenka8435 2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't see them as two separate things, there are so many ways to train both things at the same time and I think that is also important to do that. Of course it also makes sense to focus on one thing but how often depends on many different things like the level of players, how many training hours per week,...
