@@xol5052 Ok so the reason platinum mining is extremely profitable is because its spawn rate in asteroids it stupidly high. In a painite hotspot the you will find 1/5 asteroids that have some painite. However with platinum mining, you will find about a 4/5 spawn rate of platinum in asteroids. also your likely to get over 25% platinum in the asteroids that you do find. And yes I would love to play with you sometime.

Platinum is approx 50k per tonne more valuable than painite. Hyades Sector DB-X D1-112 planet 2 ring A - commonly used for Painite mapped mining, has a Platinum Hotspot next to a Mozanite Hotspot. I've been milking that nicely, in a FedCorvette set up for all mining methods (I hate having to skip a core or surface deposits).

Build suggestions: D rate instead of B, it’s lighter so you can have a little bit more mobility. Also have A rated thrusters, the t-9 is a brick and you need all the mobility you can get. Only run medium lasers, it will let you blast rocks longer and if you can engineer your power plant with either weapons focused or charge enhanced. 07 commander

Yeah, it get's boring after a while. I just got a Type 9 this weekend. That fker is SLOOOOOOOOW lol . Getting interdicted is a pain when it happens but just lead with the reticle and you won't get interdicted. I was trying to get to a spot to get a quick 50 mil and got harassed all the way to where I was selling them. I'm part of a squadron where these guys kill Thargoids with 4 damn shots man, smh. Trying to catch up. Been on since Feb 16, 2021. If you're on the Xbox 1, let me know if you need a hand or a few extra hundred cargo spaces I can haul for you if you don't have a lot of cargo space. I'm going back to my Python to mine if I'm solo dolo from now on, though.

There are a lot of mistakes in your video, do not worry we are here to help, first you need A rated Power Plant and Distribution(if is engineered better, I have weapon focus engineered power plant ), then A rate collector and prospector limpets(engineered low weight) , then there is overlapping rings(2-3 ring) where you can find more asteroids with 66.9% platinum(the system is in Col 285 Sector KM-V d2-106 Planet -5 go to inner smaller circle and you find 3 ring of platinum overlapping), and you have to let the pirates first scan you when you get in the rings.....then have fun...

B-rated stuff is much heavier than A rated, you're hampering your jump distance for no apparent reason. Budget option for A rated is C rated, while D rated is the light weight alternative.

IMO: FWIW with the Core Internal, for the modules that you don't need to A-rate, you're better off upgrading to at least a D over an E, as D weighs less and consumes the least power overall. So D Life Support, D Sensors (can engineer Long Range later for power efficiency or get an A class and lightweight it for weight saving) etc. With Power Plant you can go as low a size as possible, so you could go with a 5 (went 4 on my cargo T9, could probably even use an engineered 4 in Mining Build, haven't checked), but you ideally want to stay with A class for thermal efficiency. B is good for integrity, but if your PP is getting sniped in PVE you're doing something wrong, plus B weighs the most. Obviously it's also money dependant for many so no harm in working your way up. Mining lasers 2x class 2 is the sweet spot for unengineered Dizzys, 3 with engineered Distributor as you'll otherwise run out of Distributor before the asteroid is depleted. Size 1 Mining Lasers aren't worth using at all unless your ship doesn't allow any size 2 or only has a single size 2. Or you want a lightweight backup for an Exploration build. Good video though mate, very informative, especially for those getting into mining, audio is great and the BGM is nice and subtle. 👍

Why have you chosen to have the heavyest core internals you could? Ether D rate them for better jump range or A rate them for preformance, both will give you better jump range.

I use the T9 too, but with just one cargo rack, and enough collector limpet controllers to have 13 at the same time. FSD and power plant engineered as much as possible, plus just 3 med mining lasers and 2 turreted beam lasers to fight back pirates. An hour approx to make 70M is a decent job as of 2021.

My question is how many do you mine in one hour? I yesterday started with mining but went for LTD and I only found two asteroids with it even in the hotspot. So I went to next hotspot which was bromellite and almost every asteroid had it. So in reddit they told me to look for platinum. But still I had that feeling I were slow and had only below 200 bromellites. I wish they would allow more afk mining like I know from other games like up to 1-2 mins same asteroid. However I want to compare mining speed with trading. So if you would have full cargo in one hour that's ofc much more profit then I would with trading. because most time I do routs which brings around 80 million per hour. How many tons do you mine per hour?

My mining ship is something many would sacrifice a goat for. Fully engineered cutter with mining Lance's and turrets for pirates. Took so long to complete but it's just cathartic going on a mining trip and not being afraid of anything.

If you really wanted more cargo space, you could drop the 2x 4e cargo holds, fill those with 4b collector limpets (I use b over a for the extra range instead of the extra time you get using a rated limpets.) Then you would get roughly the same amount of limpets, but you could also replace the 7 slot with a 128 (I think that's the cargo hold anyway.) 7e cargo rack 👌 and d rate everything non essential since the d rating is the one that usually is the lightest 👍

Limpet controllers only come in 1, 3, 5 and 7 there are no even numbers. Otherwise I would do that.

@@morgaming3852 you only get 1 less controller limpet if you still change the 2 4xe cargo slots for controller limpets right? Still might be worth doing. Also you could (it would take a bit more time to mine though.) Change 2 of the 2 slots with an abrasion blaster and surface displacement mines, they're great for sub surface mining, as I'm pretty sure you can find an asteroid with good ltd sub surface deposits, and when you have drained the asteroid, just relog and hey presto, they come back and you load in above them. Although the asteroid will still be depleted and can't be laser mined. I can't remember if that's in a res zone or not though, sorry. Keep up the vids though man.

I'm new and I only have 2 ships, and one is a type-9 laser mining space cow :) I go with 11 collector limpets though, 512 cargo space, 2 level 2 mining lasers max (otherwise they drain my weapon power before I finish mining the asteroid), and no pulse wave scanners (that's core and sub-surface), detailed surface scanner, 2 prospector limpets, & a 4a refinery. Works OK. :|

I go out mining with a heavily armed and armored Anaconda. Usually after I incinerate the first NPC pirate that comes along I have enough storage for all of it. 45 ly jump range too

Refinery has zero mass, it's worth getting a bigger one with plenty of Bins if you have a slot free for it, instead of a cargo rack. When you max out your cargo racks, you still have cargo space in the hopper itself. You're right though, if you're targeting a single ore, you may not gain the benefit. However, if you're happy to take whatever VALUABLE ores you find, then it can help. Admittedly the T9 heavy isn't much fun for space trucking to find the best sales prices, especially when full to the gills with one-eye-willy's rich stuff :D

Brother there is good spots, like " Omicron Capricorni B " Planet B1, Ring A There is a double hotspot in the ring over lapping.

Laser mining is really boring though. At least deep core mining for void opals etc keeps you busy and improves your skills as a pilot. The better you are with thrusters the faster you can plant all your explosives and the faster you can maneuver around the asteroid sections with your abrasion blaster. Laser mining is just dull in comparison. Takes me quite a bit longer than an hour to fill the hold of my python though, but it's good to have some fun while grinding away.

I just went to a Platinum hotspot in the belt you're in and after 30 prospector limpets shots yielding (not lying) not a single rock with platinum deposits I begin to wonder whether depletion is a thing ... gold, silver and all sorts of stuff is available but no signs of platinum in the platinum hotspot.

Depletion is a thing but its very slow. Make sure your in the inner ring hotspot. IDK why but I had the same issue, It must me something with the outerings ring type.

Yup. When I arrived the platinum hotspot I went to was drained as well. 50 limpets, not a single thing. I just used EDDB to find pristine rings in other systems.

I'm guessing the ring wasn't this way before, but the ring he is in is a "Metal Rich" ring which only has platinum cores. Only metallic rings (like the ring closest to the gas planet) has platinum available for laser mining.

Also a quick guide A rated internals are the most potent B rated internals are heaviest but have the highest integrity (module HP) C rated are the best all around for budget D rated are best for weight E rated is garbage

Full disclosure for surface mining it HAS to be metallic. Metal rich is for deep core mining. Therefore go to the inner ring. I spent 2 hours looking for platinum before googling it. As soon as I went to thr metallic inner ring first asteroid had platinum

Takes me around 5 hours to fill my type 9 , robigo is better money making , I can make twice the money at robigo in the time it takes me to fill that type 9 . Tho if you are in a 4 ship wing the mining was alot faster to fill and time flew by because of the conversation of the wing. And at the price you are ok with selling at just build the python

544 tons? *LAUGHS IN 640 TONS* Yea long as your pulling 320 tons in most places you making 99-102 million each payday sell off. (Most of the time if you rather stay in the same system.) If you don't mind sitting in a hotspot or layered hotspot, and farm longer then an hour (most of the times) which a higher cargo cap. Then higher pay outs. Some people like the Mine'o'conda build, some the Type 9 and 10, The cutter is a pain in the ass to fill lol. But keep in mind one last thing commanders. If you also mining in a Type 9 or Cutter, hell in anything do it in Wings of 3+ and mass mine rock to rock. Not only will it go faster, the group pay out makes you way more.

I set my limpets and lasers all to 1. This way it will automatically deploy maximum limpets so long as I'm mining. It can be wasteful but it's rarely an issue

Only 88 million? Damn, mining has been seriously nerfed. I switched to combat. Even my AFK build makes around 55 million an hour with minimal effort. Also, you ship build isn't that good. Switch out the B-rated components for A or D rated. And get rid of one of the mining lasers. Engineering the distributer to favor weapon recharge rate also helps.

If you want to gain credits much faster, do trade hop between two stations. About 100-120 millions per hour profit. Edit: Doing trade loops whit my T9, with 750 tons cargo storage.

Yeah EDDB is one hell of a tool. I prefer Multi Hop, be a sorta wandering trader. Good loops can also be found through it.

Hey mate. I'm not sure what your issue is. Make sure that the planet your mining is still pristine reserves since it will deplete after a while. Also make sure your in metallic rings since plat only spawns there. (sorry about what I said in the video). Make sure your also in the yellow parts of the hotspot. hope this helps, if you have more questions feel free to ask. o7

Anacondas work for mining and can be very good at it. However I would either go with a ship with that is manoeuvrable like a clipper or maybe a python or go with something that is slow but has a huge cargo space like a cutter or a type 9. But you can mine in practically anything and the difference you will see between a Type 9 and a Conda will be minimal.
