I completed my mining ship joke with this. The Anaconda, lovingly named "Arnold Judas B.S.C" (Bronze Swimming Certificate). With the ID of Rouge1 (correct, that's rouge, not rogue) - I don't think I can drop any more hints as to the inspiration here... And yes, it's got *that* voice pack.

I got the Ruby paint onto my Chieftain, renamed her to "Shindez's Fury", and have been Dakka-ing my way to billions in style while defending Jameson Memorial. It just seemed...appropriate, you know? Free Shindez!

I've been playing Elite since 1984 on BBC model B, and played every version frontier have produced since then, on the Amiga and PC. I've also spent the last 40yrs looking for Raxxla ;)

I think they all look good. I'm going to buy several. Buying these is ok for me. Its a good way to keep the game alive imo. Like the name of the pyton btw!

They should have offered a good deal on buying the Ruby paint for every ship in-game. 10 000 Arx per ship is too much...especially when you need to buy one for each variant of a ship that's 90% the same in-game like FAS/FDS/FGS, DBS/DBX/ ASP Scout/ASPX, etc.

Might get it for my Cutter. I think the Venom paint for the paid Python 2 looks better.

@@Only_Some numbers are coming up. Slowly I’ll admit but FDev is putting time and resources into the game again. They wouldn’t bother if the game was actually dying.

No way I'm spending 10K ARX for paint.. Thankx to FDev for the Decals though! Should have put the bobble head in the CG rewards tier tally.. I'll save my ARX for the Mandalay..

If they had color-shifted it more strikingly like the Azure paint, I would have considered it, esp for my DBX, which looks great with solid paint jobs. At 10K Arx, saving for something else. Mandalay, all the way baby!

Don't think you are mad to throw a little cash at some of the kits. I do think the 10K ARK price tag for each one is a little rich of FDEV.

Bought the Dash ornament and the Anaconda Ruby straight away. Cant believe they would sell this for the Cobra Mk4 given the colour of the base ship....but anyway.

Bought that Ruby paint for the Py 2 about 6 hours before the video dropped. Real sharp. But now I gotta buy some Arrghs for that Mandalay.

I got the station bobblehead and the ruby paint for my Krait Mk2, as that's the ship I use most. I may still get it for my Cutters too, as I use those second-most (a combat variant and a CG cargo variant). I've not paid anything for the paint or bobblehead though. I've been getting and saving my weekly 400 Arx for a long, long time, and not really had anything I wanted to use them for until now. Plus I paid £100 (or was it £150? I don't remember) for the Kickstarter 10 years ago, so FDev have had a fair share of my cash already, although I have bought items from the store in the past, before it was made an Arx store. 😊 Edit: It was £150, so I could be a founding member of The Elite in game. 😁

I bought the AX Chief, it's not bad not great good scout killer I wish because I spent real-world money it had more to offer. But people would cry and say, "Oh pay to play!", I say it's for AX what play, am I going to camp and seal club?

you have to take your ship for a ride into those atmospheric planets, and there the paintings shine, is something about the colors, scattering atm, inside the FC always look meh.

The ruby paintjobs are nice but worth 10k arx each? Nope. Should be about 5k arx each imho.

The Python kit looks awesome! The ruby paint not so cool but nice. The anaconda does look great with the ruby paint. 10000 ARK though per paint job is a bit high. 50000 would be much more acceptable.

New overpriced anniversary paintjobs reveal real FD attitude to players. In their minds players should give money to FD, as anniversary presents, but FD shouldn't do anything for players.

its sad we have to pay so much for single color, its just a brighter stygian red, zero effort in making these. and the quality of the paintjobs when viewed up close is terrible.
