Thanks for this, fantastic spotlight video.I have been an avid fan and user of edcopilot for over a year. The customization options are simply amazing. You haven’t even scratched the surface on its features, and suggest everyone that sees this video, does a search for similar content. Edcopilot is also free, the author/ programmer ( Cmdr Razzafrag ) relies solely on donations and contributions. The only other thing you will need is a full voice attack account ( not demo)

People hate on this game, I just started playing after buying the base game years ago and getting Odyssey on sale recently. This is a tremendous game and the depth of the Odyssey missions is much greater than what I saw when it was first released. I am sorry I didnt get started earlier, but then I did get absorbed by V Rising and Darktide for awhile there hehe!

The major problem with providing a general modding API is that by neccessity you are loading non-ED code into the same process as ED code, and it is not impossible for someone to write a mod which tracks calls etc and works out how to give an unfair advantage - (for example buffing weapons etc). I like the fact that the journal files present a tightly controlled and very restricted API and-allow only very limited customization (for instance as demonstrated here). It would be nice if customisers such as ED-Co-Pilot could disable some of the inbuilt announcements - but doing that without exposing more of the code would be tough.

Not the mention removing pvp wouldnt solve the problem as balancing the game would be impossible in terms of the thargoid invasion and influence players have on system states. They would need to remove the multiplayer feature completely

Go straight up by 500m and point down by 45°. Your ship points to the border of 500m... Just go there.... Any adjustments to the terrain are easy by just go a little bit beyond. Been doing that so often, I have it in my muscle mem and dont need to go up any more. Ah second trick.... Make a test with a settlement for measuring the time you need to travel 500m with a predefined/reproducible process. You need the station as a fixpoint/finish line only.... Example for me.... Select settlement.... go dist of 500m..... 180° turn.... put ship in exobio config (4pips sys, 2 pips eng, gear down).... make a nice countdown and.... press 100% throttle button and start button on your phone's stop watch..... stop and watch until the.compass' ball turns from solid to hollow and press stop on your timer.... note down that time..... throw away that piece of paper and have a beer. I also LOVE Elite Dangerous ! I have 6300+ hours and 2.45 million LY under my belt to proof it. My carrier is the "Deep Space Mine" and is currently in the Centralis-System near Colonia preparing for a very long exploration journey to the other side of the Galaxy with a friend who should arrive in Colonia any day now. We both have mining- and exploration vessels parked on the carrier. He still has some engineering to do, but hey ... what better place for this then in Colonia. 😇🤪 o7 Commanders ! 👍✌ Ps.: I have tried so many other space games such as Star Citizen, Starfield, Evochron Legacy ... and i always come back to Elite Dangerous.

I roleplay by myself in most games I play. In Fallout 4 and Cyberpunk 2077, when enemy NPC's yell something at me, I talk back to them. "You'll be sorry when I find you!" Um, no, you'll be sorry when you find me. So hey, you're not alone! Roleplay on man! That ship name decal you use; I never noticed before but it looks like a Klingon Bat'leth! I agree; I don't like how my traffic controller treats me like just another schmuck rolling up to the carrier. "Yeah, you'd best clear me for docking. I own this thing and your employment future is on the line!" I just started using EDCopilot about three days ago. Right now, I have no idea how you set this up. Also, I can't understand a word of what your copilot is saying.

Recently picked up EDCopilot and I am so impressed with the software? addon? whatever. The voice-lines and pronunciation of the ship names is spot on. The little jokes when jumping to the nth hip 3204-yaddayadda always cracks me up. The sassy replies to a pirate scan with a comm-filter for extra immersion. chef's kiss fr. Super helpful "there is HGE in this system cmdr" ow. lemme grab those real quick. The only time I turned it off recently was the passive aggressive tone when I was dying to thargoid hydras during the Sol Wars. I don't care if I have to rebuy this damn ship 40 times in 2 weeks I had fun back off copilot :P

Madeline and Eden. Wonderful COVAS choices for the discerning commander. One thing to note, there's also (for a fee) the HCS Voicepacks out there that combine voiceattack with additional dialogue. One of the packs they offer is Eden, so it expands the interaction with your ship quite a lot, but you do need the software and a microphone to get the interaction. Personally, I wish Frontier would be taking note of these fantastic third party apps and tools and look at integrating a version them into the game down the road. I mean, NPCs are always NPCs (I was a Cylon like you.... until I took an arrow to the knee) but after 10 years the same canned "Remember this liner is in the top 1%" and "I'm gonna boil you up!!" lines are worse than Yoda's home cooking. (Funnnnyyyy joke!)

I use the G19s companion app for space chatter. Its not a supported app any more AFAIK, but its still pretty good for SRV navigation and the space chatter. It doesn't work with cloud voices though, just any SAPI5 voices you have installed.

yeah I used to play in solo a lot and reading the 15 same npc comms messages over and over, you know the top 1percent of all liners out there. I really wish fdev would just get chat gpt to write like a 1000 variations of the npc comms so you dont have to see the same messages all the time

I do wish the voice was a bit less clear and had more static. In addition something I’d love is to hear background chatter and other ships being told where to go. Sure they’re NPCs, but ATC has an open mic and you can hear other crafts and their communication. Have a function where you can toggle radio frequencies and only hear commands that pertain to you. In addition, having ATC communicate with each other would be so amazing. I know mods can only go so far… but I feel like we shouldn’t need mods for something like that. Makes it so much more immersive. Another thing that I wanna nit pick at is the two different tones of the controllers just feels off-putting. Having them sound similar (as in quality, and tone) would truly make it fit so much better.

I'll respond in order :-) There are options to increase and decrease the distortion and the radio beeps. Oh, there is space chatter and it is AMAZING. I haven't even gotten to that part yet. That will be in the video AFTER the next video. trust me, it's awesome!! Not sure what you mean, but you can create dialogue that can simulate what I 'think' you mean... I agree but, it's where we are with ED. But now, with EDCP Idc about that anymore lol. Yeah, I get it. I like the differences bc to me it represent 'people' from all parts of the bubble that may sound completely different. But you don't have to have 2 controllers. I'm just overboard like that lol.

A few users user both at the same time...... "out of the box" they will conflict on announcements. You will have to switch some off in EDDI and some off in EDCoPilot, depending on your preference.

The pronunciation oddities are mainly because OP uses non-English language voices for his characters, and they are trying to pronounce using their native language rules. English voices are much clearer and easier to understand.

Cool cool. The only thing with those would be the limitation of only having pre-recorded lines from the actors, nothing new (unless they bring them back in to record more and pay them more). Which is fine. But with this the sky is the limit. But as long as you're happy thats all that matters! :-)

My fleet carrier is Spaceball 2 the Store. I have tons of modules, few ships, and as much commodities as I can fit in the ship. I was hoping that ED would have better support for trading on carriers but its not the case. Hmm, well, you can set specific voices for specific stations (showing that in my 3rd video coming soon), so you could literally set THEIR FC voice in your edcp, so when you visit it's the same, soooo kinda close to what you're saying I think.

I have JUST published a version for my Beta Test team to kick the tires on, that will do JUST THAT for carriers owned by other EDCoPilot Commanders, where the FC owner can also grant other Commanders VIP access. Greetings will change based on if you are : VIP, In wing with the FC owner, in same squadron as the FC owner, same faction, or if they have allowed just a "standard" greeting for any other schmo landing.

I've downloaded and installed the program but it only recognises the ship I'm in and works fine. It doesn't recognise my Carrier or that the Carrier is mine. Do you have to set this up manually? The ship side just worked as soon as it was installed. Great video by the way.

@@AndyB254 Click on the Settings icon at top second right, then will open Settings, then click the grey button at top that says "Basic Settings (click the grey button at top to access the other Settings sections)" ... you will then get a drop down list of all the settings pages available. Click on "Space Chatter - Main Settings" and on that page make sure "Space Chatter on/off" is set to ON and that "Station Chatter Fleet Carrier greetings on/off" is also set to ON.

If you have DeepL or Google Translate accounts set up (and there are free monthly quotas for both), then there are options to translate all the Ship AI and all the Space Chatter into your chosen language. It will also select the correct voice for the language needed, so if you translate into Italian for example it will speak the translated phrase using an Italian voice, so that it pronounces properly. However if no translation, it will pronounce the ship names using the English voices, which may mis-pronounce it. There are ways to force it to pronounce words differently though, if that happens.
