Today we are reviewing the Elite FTS Core Blaster Squat attachment and this might be the best belt squat for someone on a low budget. If you have a landmine, you can easily use this attachment to do belt squats and it's very space friendly and easy to use. So if you don't have the budget or space for a stand alone belt squat, this is a solid option.

For a person like me that has never done a belt squat this would be ideal to start doing belt squats. Thnkx for review, I've never seen this device before

Solid! This seems way more natural than the one I got coming attached to the rack 😳😂 great review and breakdown! Anything space saving and helps get the gains is always a win!

Yeah I liked it a lot minus the setup and not being able to load very heavy because you have nothing to grab on to. That one coming is more like a loading arm DIY belt squat, still interested to hear your thoughts on it.

If you can, using an Iron Mind Hip belt allows for a full range of motion with 35s not standing on anything. Basically, because with the IronMind Hip Belt the bar clips to the belt much higher.

I agree, I almost didn't buy the Rhino because of it but wanted to load heavier and I don't like spending the time setting this one up since you have to elevate your feet to get full ROM.

Great review! This has always been my first choice for doing belt squats if I ever decide I want something to do them with. Would you be willing to check out the Mark Bell Shake Strap cable attachments? There aren’t a lot of reviews on them and I think you may like them and do a great review given the injuries you’ve discussed in the past.
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 2 жыл бұрын
Let me take a look at them. Right now, it seems like a lot at $67 for basically an elastic strap that will wear over time. I have the hip circle from Mark Bell and it’s a great piece but I might consider this for Face Pulls and lighter rows. Seems like you could get a relatively similar training effect by using some normal loop bands with a D ring on your cable machine, just wouldn’t be as comfortable due to the rubber straps compared to this combo of nylon and mark bell material.
@jamestonbellajo
@jamestonbellajo 2 жыл бұрын
@@GoreckiFit yeah I agree with you completely. I actually ended up getting two single Shake Straps last year since I had elitefts credit and the only thing I use it for are chest flys on a single pulley. Have you tried that on your Single Stack? I put the two Shake Straps on my Prime Long Bar and then a d-handle on each strap and put them on the widest setting. If it’s hard to picture you can look up “Ironmaster chain fly kit” on KZbin and I basically do that but with the Long Bar instead of the row attachment and the single Shake Straps instead of chains. I used chains at first but I get much better tension with the straps. For other exercises, I end up using my Spud Inc stuff, Prime Spreader Bar and MAGs over the Shake Straps, but I should incorporate them more.

@@jamestonbellajo I haven’t tried it yet but I’ve definitely seen that done using daisy chains and the Prime Fitness Kaz handles from coach Kassem w the long bar. I use the functional trainer mainly for my flys, the Prime Fitness Single Stack was primarily for upgrading my lat machine and couldn’t pass up the unit due to size, adjustable pulley and being able to low row using my bench and not having to sit on the floor.

Completely agree, a bit more convenient than the cinder blocks and loading pin option.
@strawberryyogurt0
@strawberryyogurt0 2 жыл бұрын
A much better and cheaper option would be a loading pin if someone already has a belt. Titan fitness has a $25 (free ship) loading pin, or the more expensive one from Rogue. Plus the resistance will be the actual weight of the plates loaded. The landmine setup unfortunately decreases the total weight squatted. An even cheaper method if someone has a power rack would be to simply use the j hooks - basically an elevated landmine so to speak. One end of the barbell resting on the j hook, then attach the other end to your belt.
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 2 жыл бұрын
Those are good options too, I’ve used the loading pin and in my opinion, you have to stand on something w good elevation and almost do a sumo squat to use 45’s due to the diameter of the plates. I’ve seen the video of the power rack but never tried it myself but seems like a nice option as well. Great recommendations!!

You’re wrong about the weight feeling lighter than what’s loaded on the bar. That’s true for something like the Sorinex J-Squat where the weight is loaded in between the lifter and the pivot/fulcrum but on the EliteFTS version the lifter is in the middle with the weight out in front. That actually increases the felt load. I did the math and the felt load is almost 20% higher than what’s loaded on the bar.
@strawberryyogurt0
@strawberryyogurt0 2 жыл бұрын
@@johnhill861 … What’s the math that you did? I’m guessing you used physics/calculus or whatever necessary to come to your conclusion? (Note: I was never good at either subject). You could be very well correct though. My initial reaction was that landmine exercises always felt lighter to me. Revisiting this video because of your comment through KZbin’s notification system, I do see the weight is in front of the user. Holding a 45lb with your arms fully extend definitely feels heavier (on the arms) than holding a 45lb plates directly against the body. But does that same sensation truly translate to this setup? And is that what the math tells us?
@johnhill861
@johnhill861 2 жыл бұрын
@@strawberryyogurt0 I used an online calculator for a Class 3 Lever and plugged in actual measurements from my setup. The math is accurate but in actual use the calculation is a bit lighter than reality. It doesn’t factor for the bar weight and I’m not good enough at the math to do it accurately. Later today I’m going to stand on a scale with just the bar and the belt squat pieces to figure out the base weight.
@johnhill861

@@strawberryyogurt0 I just went out to my garage gym and weighed everything. Got some interesting results. I used a digital bathroom scale so factor that in to what I found. When I weighed myself (217#) plus the bar (45# Rogue Ohio bar) and the EliteFTS Belt Squat device plus the Spud Inc. Belt Squat Belt and S-hook I got a total of 266#. That makes the unloaded weight of the setup right at 49#. I then used my Rogue Deep Dish plates (very accurate) to load 50# using 2x25. Results on the scale were 316# so the felt weight and actual load were pretty much identical. Same for 70# using 2x35. When I added 100# is where things got interesting. Using 2x45 +10 I got the scale to settle at 366# so again the felt weight was pretty much exactly the loaded weight. The scale has a max load of 400# so instead of adding more weight I slid the plates out towards the end of the bar and the felt weight went up about 20%. What I would take away from this is if you’re using thin plates and /or lighter loads you’re safe using the total of plates plus 50# to keep the math simple. If you’re using a bunch of 45# or 100# deep dish plates or bumpers multiply the weight stack total times 1.15 and add 50#. Let me know what you think.

I would like to make one I have a small welder. Do you know any of the measurement? Is the top handle pipe or solid bar? Thanks Danny great info
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 2 ай бұрын
Length of it from top to bottom is like 35 inches. Bottom pipe is like 7 inches. Top feels like a solid bar but the bottom and body are definitely hollow, so a pipe would work. Diameter of hole is a tad over 2 inches so an Olympic barbell sleeve will go on it.

Huge tip ! Dont buy the large spud belt squat belt for this belt squat attachment, instead buy the medium . The medium s straps are far far shorter on each side so it increases your range of motion by a ton . If you only use 25 pound plates you can actually go lower than parrarlel, close to atg . This also increases the leverage so youll only be able to do 50% of what you can do with a bar bell parrarlel sqaut . So if you can sqaut 350 pounds for 10 reps with a barbell to parrarlel then you can only do 5 25 s with this belt squat attachment for 10 reps almost atg . The medium spud belt squat belt makes all the difference with this .

Is it possible to do narrow stance squats for outer quads?
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say narrow, because In the video I’m doing a normal squat stance, I could get a bit closer but the bar would be in my way when squatting. The weight is mostly in front of me, so I don’t need to worry about that, just the bar itself.
