Cutting down that side of the driveway and side yard gave that a very nice transition. If my eyes are right, that should make both side about the same angle coming into it and maintaining that side of the yard easier and not as steep. Great work Brandon.

For some reason they want to avoid a retaining wall, but one of the nicest "features" that I've noticed over the years for a lot like this would be a short retaining wall right along the front - back in 3 or 4 feet from the road. It would solve that odd slope issue going down to the street and allow for more level grading up at the driveway and in front of the house. It's got to be a little frustrating for you not knowing exactly what's expected but what you've done, in spite of this, is very nice. People pay for the ELITE treatment, they ought to get the ELITE opinion and go with it! BTW, nice job of working around that trailer conveniently left in the middle of the driveway......
@eliteearthworksllc4 ай бұрын
I agree I think the retaining would look really nice and give them some nice curb appeal. It would make a lot of the grade issues easier. Thank you! Yeah the siding guys didn’t care to move it lol!

The design of this house has many expensive construction features! This customer has already paid you a "small fortune!" It amazes me they don't think through what is important, the things they absolutely can't live without and settle on a desire and not do any more changes. Also, they're probably doing the same thing with the builder. Their indecisions, I'm sure, have already cost them or is on the way to costing them, over $200K extra....and I can see many more changes coming! Lol, let the cash register ring, haul it to your checking account! Thanks for the video.
@eliteearthworksllc4 ай бұрын
Yes it does! I agree makes more sense to do the changes that can not be changed or added to later. Like put the retaining wall in but maybe don’t do marble countertops. Change them out later. Oh I’m definitely enjoying the change orders they have been good. Appreciate you watching

I see now that I would have to admit that I am in the older generation, (58) , we would use a D3 sized dozer to shape up and finish grade houses and driveways. I'm seeing less and less of that. Between that, and the lack of use of track loaders I feel techniques have changed and not for the better. You are doing a very nice job and the end result will be the same so, please, continue on.
@eliteearthworksllc4 ай бұрын
I used my dozer when I initially built the pad and shaped the lot. It’s an hour away on a job and didn’t feel like getting it for this. I think you are right though the techniques are definitely changing more excavators and skid steers are used now in place of dozers and track loaders. I come from more landscaping so I started on a skid steer and eventually added a dozer. I’m hoping to get a 953 next year since my projects seem to be getting bigger. Appreciate you watching
@scottmcquarrie72954 ай бұрын
@@eliteearthworksllc l am really a Hoe guy. Either Excavators or Backhoes, it doesn't matter and I have 41 years on both of them. I'm really not that great on a Dozer but I do see a trend of reduced use for a Dozer while people struggle harder to do the same job with a tracked skid steer , and although they are a fantastic machine I don't think they can do a dozers job as well as a Dozer or a track loaders job as well as a track loader. Track loaders are severely underused because of the younger generations lack of education on them and their lack of desire to learn. Track loaders are an amazing machine with the right Operator on them.
@eliteearthworksllc4 ай бұрын
@@scottmcquarrie7295 I agree! I’ve been running skid steers for 26 years and dozers for about 3 so I’m much more efficient on a skid still but getting more confident on the dozer. You’re right about the younger generation not wanting to learn a track loader
@scottmcquarrie72954 ай бұрын
@@eliteearthworksllc , you seem like a really solid Operator on your Hoe and your track skid steer. I really liked your narration from Conexpo 23 at the Takeuchi booth. You really seem to like their products. I hear around here in NJ that their skid steers are top of the line. I really like the idea of a overhead window. Forcing an Operator to look through a glass door to do precision work is insane. Roll up door for me or nothing. And I absolutely refuse to run a Hoe with the window closed. All the best luck with your company my friend.

I don't clearly recall the first time you did the work on this project but it seems like you've handled about as much material this time as you did the first time.
