Cool! I’ll start below the knee next time I wrap then. I saw another video you start above the knee. Thanks.

Great video, so now if you have a chance can you make a video on how a rawlifter can add or program knee wraps into their routine.
@WpnsCo2013OEF4 жыл бұрын
Dont overthink it. Knee wraps are a support for your heavy lifts. Or even your hypertrophy training in the sense that you can use them to your Benefit in sets with higher rep ranges. Use them as you feel you need or want. There is no science to say WHEN is optimal for wraps use, it's just kinda common sense and practical application. Be smart train safe.

A little bit late to the party here, but I generally would use sleeves in most of the season, then start using wraps 6 weeks out to get used to them..

I just bought these same wraps, haven’t used them yet but I tried this style of wrapping and seems like I somehow without realizing I unflex my quad cause when I stand up I always think my knee cap is always moved idk if it’s cause I’m new to a actual good set of wraps or if I am not noticing myself unflexing my knee cap. Great video bro! Hope to get the hang of it soon.

Tension UP!!!!
@boydmccollum6925 жыл бұрын
Now try wrapping a 6’3 SHW with 32” thighs (w/correspondingly thick knees and calves) with a 2 meter wrap lol. The best single person wrap we got was from a 105kg world champion who deadlifts 800lbs. The tightest wraps we ever got were by two national level powerlifters (one a SHW) working in tandem - this was for a 360kg 3rd attempt squat at a meet in single ply. He probably had 370 in him with that wrap. Wrapping is a skill and it takes a lot of forearm and grip strength (and muscular endurance!).

Should you have your whole leg hyperextended with the quad flexed and knee locked all at the same time while you wrap?

Nice wrapping demonstration but wish you explained why you wrap this way. Why do you wrap out (pulling patella laterally) rather than in? Why start at the bottom and not the top? Ive been wrapping inward for 35 years, wondering if Im missing something.
@ByeEvoX5 жыл бұрын
Theoretically, if you wrap inwards you're creating tension that would otherwise bring your knees in, whereas we like to push our knees out while squatting.
@sullivansirishalley...andt24025 жыл бұрын
He talks about keeping the quad flexed and toes up to keep the kneecap from moving.
@Joesullivan_aod5 жыл бұрын
Would rather pull the patella laterally than medially because it might help cue the lifter to externally rotate their femur. It's my personal preference, as the direction truly doesn't matter because it's up to the lifter to use their musculature to keep the patella neutral and all the lower extremity engaged. They should not be completely relying on the supportive equipment to do so.
@boydmccollum6925 жыл бұрын
It’s a preference where you start. You can wrap down from above the knee if you prefer.

Why bother wrapping? If you cant lift it without wraps then that's your strength limit.

Stupid ass comment
@Joesullivan_aod5 жыл бұрын
Most people compete in both wrapped and unwrapped events, and a large portion of wrapped squatters training is still done in sleeves or naked knees. Sometimes the answer is it's fun, sometimes it is because it feels good, and sometimes there is no answer!
@asammushtaq9565 жыл бұрын
@@Joesullivan_aod because its fun I compete raw with sleeves but I still enjoyes this video!!!
@borisesquilotromp895 жыл бұрын
That's your strength level without the wraps. If you put on the wraps you just have a higher strength level. "strength level" is completely up to personal definition. For example do you use a belt when you lift? If so I could ask you the exact same question you just put forth. "If you can't lift it without the belt then that's your strength level" now maybe you would say you don't use a belt. That's completely fine I would just ask you do you ever use straps? And repeat it again. Or do you use a mixed grip or hook grip if you do I would say "if you can't lift it double overhand then that's your strength level" the point is everybody uses things that aid them in lifting more weights, some use more some use less, it's just where you decide to draw the line. Some do it at a belt and sleeves some at a belt and wraps others single ply and then others multi ply. It's just personal beliefs and preferences.
